this CGI trailer is the latest in a long line of depressing marketing for the game in an attempt to attract the KABOOM EXPLOSION kiddie crowd and i'm so sick of it now. It's just so obvious it's embarrasing for BioWare. I feel embarresed FOR BioWare.
EA really has cut off your balls.
I'm angry. Sorry.

But you can't blame ME 3... the value was given to the series by you (and others) - and was always false.
BTW -this is a pretty solid suggestion for future life endeavors. Always be aware of your expectations... and don't let them get out of hand.
Or then you'll into some cynical bastard who thinks he's got the "real" score on how the world works... and anyone who isn't a curmudgeon just doesn't understand yet.
Reality is... "they" were wrong and they discovered they were wrong... so now they're bitter.
Best to avoid that outcome in the future - I'd recommend changing your expectations of the value of video games in general.

I don't like being negative, I'm generally a positive person, but with every bit of info I read/watch about ME3, I just get so angry and disappointed. I'm sorry for being so negative but I went from having such high, positive expectations for this game (to bring the best of ME1 and ME2 and merge them together to form ME3), to getting depressed with each new info release.

The CGI trailer we saw wasn't even in its complete form.
But really: is the CGI trailer from marketing really a cause to be upset? Let's calm down and wait for the actual game.

I hate to sound rude, but the games were building up to this as a series. You knew it was coming. I don't get the problem because this is a logical step in things with the "take back earth" portion of it, at the very least. Can you explain why its a problem maybe?

You are correct 100%, and I'm not saying otherwise, but my expectation, as wrong as it was, wasn't just formed out of nothing - it's formed from my experiences playing ME1 and ME2, as well as various promises from BioWare etc.
But you're right. Expect the worst and be surprised, than expect the best and be disappointed.

Well in all fairness the extended cgi trailer is probably going to have more gritty action, but it's a cgi trailer, what else would you expect? There'd be no point in going through the expense to show stuff other than action that you can make look cool, even the ME2 cgi trailer was action heavy.
But seriously people need to get over the marketing thing, "Take back Earth" is a marketing slogan just like "Fight for the Lost," nothing more.

No way, it's a build up all various action-orientated marketing that ME3 has been going through for a while now. This CGI trailer was a chance for BioWare to create something really epic, emotional, adventurous and exciting - instead they opted for explosions, random fighting, an over-sexed Ashley and chaos. The reason I'm upset now is because it seems that this is what ME3 is going to be all about.

What was so bad about the ****ing trailer? Really? Can't you people appreciate anything? It's the war for Earth, war for the galaxy, everyone si facing extinction for ****s sake so what do you expect to see in a trailer of a game like that?
op probably expects a 5 million dollar star wars cgi budget.
i mean seriously the trailer was fine and i do really think people can be ungratefull alot.

+5 for using the term "curmudgeon" fluently in a sentence not talking about a jaded elderly person

What if I thought turning the Reapers into mad artist robots who simply want to redecorate planet Earth was - "the best possible story"? Absolutely ludicrous to be sure - but it illustrates the point. You would surely disagree... but again, your expectations of "the best" were to blame.
Better to have NO expectations... and to understand that the ones you do have, were only given a value by you. In this manner - I think we begin to learn the folly of all our "expectations" - be they positive or negative.
Anyway - blah blah blah...
I hope you end up enjoying the game.

@matt-bassist: It's fine to "expect the best" - but know that, especially in a creative endeavor... "the best" is subjective.
