Give PC snipers a laser pointer as well.

Not a laser for aiming, the crosshairs are fine. A laser so the rest of the squad can see what the sniper is about to shoot. Actually, no gameplay change at all, besides the visual cue that only the sniper's squadmates can see.

Basically, when a sniper is lining up a shot in a hectic battle, and a squad-mate goes plinking away at that phantom/centurion/whatever with their pistol, it causes the NPC to evade. The sniper either misses or has to line up again.

Can't blame squad mates, they have no idea you're aiming at the baddy. But it would be nice to give that visual cue so that vets can recognize it and wait to attack that phantom until after you've yanked down their barrier and some health with your gun.

Would even be fair to make that an upgrade on a sniper rifle. I'd probably give up the extra ammo clip for it.

As well?

Are you implying that such a feature exists on console? I don't remember ever seeing a laser sight outside of Nemesii aiming at me.

I haven't had an issue enough with it to give up that extra ammo, you won't be as willing to give that mod away when you start doing gold and silver.

Been on both gold and silver plenty.

"As well", because the Nemesis NPC has a visible laser when it is aiming.

That's an excellent idea, how many times did I attack a target only for it be one shot sniped. Instead I could have focused on others.

This really is a no-brainer.

By PC i think he meant player character, not personal computer.

So because an NPC has a visual cue that it's about to break your shields and possible a chunk of you health because you stood still for too long, means that we should get one as well? Because you have been inconvenienced and/or didn't get the killing blow because you were reloading?

You could net the same results if you verbally warned your team that you are aiming at a important target, and you wouldn't have to sacrifice a mod slot. If that is too much work to do then it's probably too much work to put into the game.

Yeah its a rare thing so I don't really care about it. Definitely not enough to give up spare ammo.

Just aim at targets your teammates aren't engaging. I go for troopers and centurions dropping in at the back, Guardians through the slot, countersniping a Nemesis that is hiding, engineers trying to set up turrets, turrets themselves etc. Leave the front ranks for your vanguards and soldiers to deal with.

Yes, sorry, I meant Player Character.

To your point, minianthunter, I'd be willing to give up ammo for a cue because it would save me bullets in the long run. You aren't. The magic of customization at work!

So you are trying to tell me that you are missing more than 10 shots per wave due to team makes making the enemies move?  I think you are doing something wrong.

Don't get me wrong my main is an infiltrator as well and it happens sometimes maybe once or twice an entire game. But when I am playing my krogan soldier and I am running around meleeing everything in bronze trust me a little red/green dot (or even a line like the nemesis) will be hard to see in the heat of a fight, especsially when you lose your shields and the camera suddenly needs some clear eye's drops really bad.

If I add in all the times I miss a shot + the times I quickly correct and one-shot what they started shooting. Yes, 10 times per wave if my squad-mates are on the ball. If they aren't, it can be rare. Different play styles, perhaps.

Plus, ammo is plentiful in these two maps. I anticipate it will be harder on some other maps, and on those I might make a different decision.

This is all besides the point, really, though. It is a gameplay item that could be added without taking up an upgrade slot. I simply stated that it is important enough to /me/ that I'd be willing to sacrifice for it. If it is there and my squad mates don't notice, or don't care, no biggie. But at least it is there for those whom do.

So then you are saying its impossible for you to verbally warn them then?

mini, I really think you are missing the point. Its not just about the ammo, its about the wasted time. In pick-up groups, there isn't a lot of coordination, and this simple visual cue can help the whole group function more efficiently and avoid a very frustrating situation.

Similarly, I find it frustrating when I sneak up behind a Phantom as an Infiltrator and just as I'm about to wind up for the kill, some idiot with an SMG starts spraying the whole region, causing the Phantom to cartwheel away, me to break stealth fruitlessly and now I'm naked in the same room with the space ninja...

Again, is it phyiscally impossible for both of you to give a verbal warning or notification to your teammates?

Also you are doing your melees wrong because they lock on to the target and halt target movement when the animation starts.

Calling out a verbal warning is ineffective when there are 5 of the same enemy in the same area. This is true even for phantoms on silver & gold settings. By the time you describe the specific phantom you are looking at (behind the barrier on the right, next to the barrel, oh wait, there are two barrels, it is the one behind the ramp -- nevermind you shot it), you could have just taken the shot and risked it. Laser is instant feedback, it is more efficient. Yes, lost time is a huge factor.

He's not doing melee wrong. You are assuming everyone is an idiot instead of reading our experiences and applying a little empathy. Lochias could be sneaking around in a small room to position for a headshot. I've gotten close to phantoms, too, in order to pull that off on one camping a dead team mate. Even if he is doing melee, there is plenty of time between getting dangerously close (especially where a phantom is concerned) and actually starting the heavy melee animation for a teammate to screw you over by making the phantom evade.
