If you've played the multiplayer demo then no doubt you are aware that the color of your weapons changes as you get more advanced upgrades.   Some of the colors look pretty cool; but some of them.....ugggghhh.

I just got an upgrade in Multiplayer and now my Mattock is ****ing bright orange.

I DO NOT WANT A BRIGHT ORANGE GUN BIOWARE!

The novelty of having my weapon change color as I level up does not offset the irritation I have at being unable to choose my weapon's color and finding mysefl getting stuck with some godawful color.  Thus I have a simple request....

Give the player an option to choose their weapon's color for themselves.

Perhaps the different weapon colors could be unlocked for the player as they acquire progressively stronger weapon upgrades thus maintaining the novelty of unlocking new weapon colors; but not impeding the player's
sense of style.

Bioware programmed a wide variety of weapon skins into ME3 and the player should have the freedom to choose which of these skins they wish to apply to their weapons.

I have to agree on some level, weapon customization(as far as appearance goes) is often overlooked but can add so much personalization to games. Army of two was pretty awesome for that

I'd love a more complex system for customizing the appearance of my weapon; but just a simple option to choose between the skins they've already programmed in would be enough for me.

I agree, but why not just allow a system to switch between already unlocked mods? Allow me to explain better, you could choose the cosmetic effects of the attachment (from the ones you have recieved, such as the reflex sight-esque scope or the muzzle brake-esque long barrel) while still keeping the highest attained mod bonuses. I'd like this system better as it grants the player a little more customization than the level you are requesting, and makes it so you have full control of your weapons colour, optical attachment design and light effects (for SMGs with heat sinks).

Hmm. A pink krogan with a pink Revenant.
That sounds... scary.

But; it clashes with my armor.  I bet all the other N7's are laughing at me behind my back.

Varies from gun to gun.  Its tied to a particular modification for each weapon type and as you level up the modification the weapon's change color.

So far I've seen my Katana go from bluish to brown to gray to black, while my Scimitar using the same mod went from off white to yellow to pure white to black.  (The mod in question being the smart choke).

The only other I've noticed color changing so far is tied to the expanded clip mod for my assault rifles.
My Avenger went from gray to brown to green to ? to black.
and my Mattock went from off white to bright yellow to pale yellow to pure white to bright orange.

Other mods also change the appearance; but not as profoundly.   Some change the grip color slightly or the color of the lights on the gun or add a barrel extension or a bayonet on the end or a scope on top.

Its only possible through shere dumb luck really.

I had my Mattock and my Scimitar both in matching pure white for a while and felt pretty stylish then I leveled up my mods and my Scimitar turned black (no prob there) and my Mattock turned bright orange (ugggh.).

Ya something like need for speed customization for guns has been a dream of mine for awhile now. i usually spend hours doing that kind of stuff, in real life too!!! Just finshed making a oak crossbow, but not midevil style... looks more like it belongs in this game lol

Would be nice to be able to color weapons on our own without the mods doing so. I've been put off using certain mods just because how fugly they can make a weapon look.

This.

(Kinda what lead to Gears' 3/Epics downfall.)

And to be honest, I don't care about the color of my gun. It's just a gun. :o

I like this idea. They could offer an "invisible mod slot" or something to change weapon colors.

The appearance of the Extended Barrels (at least for the AR/Sniper IIRC) change according to their level as well.

I want the one with the oversized muzzle brake.

Women like their handbags in a certain color and men like their weapons in a certain color :D

Where did this old thread come from..? However, I think this would be pretty cool and shouldn't be a lot of work for BioWare (compared to a lot of other things at least).

This can be done by messing around with the coalesd.ini.
It's not considered a bannable offense.
Too bad I have no idea what to meddle with.

But see it's not just a gun.  It's a companion.  I give my guns girl names.  Like Shirley and Sue.  And I sing them lullabies as I clean them and I caress them as I reload them.

It's only fair that we accessorize them.  I mean that's what ladies want.
