How?
All the classes I play I roll with only a pistol. to cut down the cooldown and I find it more than enough. I actually find it more efficient and my DPS goes up, always the top 1 or 2 on the ladderboard. But I just havent been able to get any upgrades for it. I'd suppose the game to keep track of most used weapons and unlock those but apparently not.
So I have an Viper 6 or 7 but only a rank 2 pistol with 3 characters at level 18 and 19. Every unlock has been AR or shotgun or snipers or even SMGs which I hate.
and I tried a few recruit packs too. No luck there either. Are pistol upgrades that rare?

It's just RNG being random I think. I've barely got anything for rifles, shotguns or pistols, but I'm loaded with SMG stuffs.

I have both the Viper X and Mantis X and even the Predator X. I only use the Avenger and sometimes the Revenant and Katana combo for my Krogan.

funny cuase i wanted new AR's and got mostly pistols/smgs. M-6 carnifex is an insane pistol tho!

At least give upgrades to each rank accordingly. that way I wont have high rank craps that I wont use.. blah
