Phantoms.

Because turret has less life, is easier to see, and does not move, and does not cloak.

Both are just random.

At least I can call out a Phantom. Engineers like to build turrets behind your back when you're not looking.

just got the carnifex today and nothing makes me more giddy than popping an engineer's head like a grape. i think that answers the question

Engineers. I cringe every time they crouch down to pop a turret.

It really depends on the class. But as a Vanguard, my main. I tend to dislike the engineers worse, or rather the turrets.

Being a mobile class makes it difficult for Phantoms to catch me until I'm assaulting them, and then it's only a matter of them occasionally getting that lucky kill in.

Turrets are far more dangerous, they're durable, and often blend into backgrounds until they're shooting at you. As a Vanguard, I have to go all out to kill it or die in the process in the worst possible spot to get revived. If a phantom kills me, they're either moving already towards their next target, easier to take down than turrets, or they assassinated me, so nobody's going to fall into the trap to save me anyways.

I've seen turrets mow down an entire squad more often than Phantoms. Usually Phantoms have to have some sort of major distraction to be a threat.

My advice as a low cooldown Vanguard to other low cooldown Vanguards : Kill the Turret first and use Nova. If the Phantom tries to move in on you, it will get hit by the Nova. If she removes your shields, you're likely due for an additional charge to get back up anyways. The turret is always the more dangerous target.

Phantoms. Turrets and Engineers drop easily enough with my Sentinel, Engineer and Infiltrator (only ones I've used so far).

CE - Turrets!!
Phantom - shield killing gun, Katana!

Both are a royal pain, which is great, but with any realtime kinda game you simply have to eliminate the greater threat first. For the most part that appears to be Phantoms (assuming Silver or Gold). CE's and turrets can usually be avoided long enough to deal with them when ready, but those pesky Phantoms like to stalk and stalk and stalk until you or they are dead.

For me it is the phantoms that are more annoying because I like to play as an infiltrator and I have no problem taking down the turrets. And I can kill the engineer in one hit but the phantoms barrier can block most head shots that and they are a pain to track when sniping.

Phantoms. At least with the badass Revenant machinegun, I can hide behind cover and overwhelm the turret with gunfire. My krogan was in a rage, had leveled everything with melee, shields were up... In comes the phantom, impales him with the sword, and my krogan is dead. The worst part is, you can't revive after a phantom attack.

Indeed.

Every time I headshot a Nemesis/Phantom I can't help but think what a waste of beautiful booty that was. :(

Both dangerous enemies, but if I have to choose which one to take out first... It would be the Phantom.

Engineers. The turrets need to go and they also fix Atlas armor. I've had countless of times people going down because of those turrets. I hate them more than Phantoms, they can tie your entire team down with one good turret placement.

Phantoms aren't a big problem but they are top priority. I don't want them to be able to catch my team mates on surprise.

Repairing Atlas and such is all fine and good but for the LOVE OF GOD, I am sick of team firing a Combat Engineer, watching him die, then 10 seconds later a friggin turret pops up. Sure we can shoot it before it even sets itself up, but that's kinda difficult with 5 Phantoms running around and another 8 Combat Engineers placing turrets on every square foot of open space.

I mean seriously, sometimes it feels like turrets set up other turrets without the need for an Engineer.

I hate engineers more because I always notice the Phantom but somehow I never see the turret and just die to it. In those single point hack objectives, if they fortify the hack site before you get there, you're doomed.

Phantoms, hitting one at range with a SR is a pain is the "organic posterior" (check the Cerberus hate mail threat). Engineers aren't a big deal, if I see one I pop cloak and take his head off. Unless of course you're in the open and they get that turret down, then it's infiltrator paste all over the place.

Turrets take me down more, but phantoms take me out. Also anyone else run into invisible turrets. Had it happen 3 times.

Phantoms 9/10 times get me. Engineers arent a big deal if you're careful about wandering into open terrain. On silver/gold you end up with 3+ phantoms at a time and while you're dealing with one the other two get you

On vanguard the situation is reversed. Phantoms are easy but it's easy to end up charged in turret crossfire while finishing a guy off

My Asari Adept makes quick work of Phantoms. My Salarian infiltrator makes quick work of EVERYTHING.

Everyone else hates phantoms more.

Although honestly the worst is both. The turret forces you to be in cover, while the phantom just runs up close...

Combat engineers are annoying as hell.
Am lucky enough to have unlocked Asari adept. So easy to stasis phantoms + teammates headshot with sniper rifle.
One engineer is fine but two placing turrets can screw you when you have to kill an atlas in 1 min without rocket launcher.

Combat engineers. They are sneakier than a damn phantom considering they always manage to get away with dropping turrents right on top of us. Sometimes they even have the balls to drop them right in front of us.

Phantoms are no match for a Vanguard or charging Krogan so I don't fear them.

God that's a hard choice. Turrets stay in the same position, do a lot of damage, and are hard to destroy. But Phantoms move around pretty quick and sneaky, dodge a lot, do a lot of damage, and are easy or hard to kill depending on your class.

I'd say Phantoms.

Objective waves are the only times you ever need to move. If turrets are being a hassle and your team is half-way competent (and coordinated) you can just hunker down until you've dealt with everything around them and pick off the turrets at your leisure.

With Phantoms, no matter how well laid out your defensive plans are they will **** up your day unless you happen to have the right classes available and alive.

The problem with turrets is when there's more than one. If not for that, they'd be easy.

It's pretty simple, really.

Engineers and Infiltrators have the tools to trivialize Cerberus Engineers and their turrets, so of course they're going to say Phantoms are the bigger threat.

Asari Adepts can use stasis to trivialize Phantoms, and Vanguards can smash a Phantom's face in with a combination of charge, nova, and a shotgun. Naturally, they think Turrets are the bigger threat.

A team made up of a combination of these classes doesn't really have a problem with any enemy type.
