I did a search - it came up with 51 topics talking about some game involving hexes and items I never heard of before.
Anyways - I've played Warriors and Mages to this point, but am interested in trying an Assassin type of rogue - thinking dual wield swords ... can anyone point me to a good resource so I can figure out builds, preferred equipment and such?

If your going dual wielding you will want Dueling as a secondary specialization as well as your Assasin primary. Beyond that you will want to decide if you want to stick with daggers or dual wield other weapons.
For nondagger builds you will want to focus on strength and dexterity as your primary stats with willpower and cunning as secondary. You will need most of the Dual Wielding talents to make the most of your bigger weapons. Especially Dual-Weapon Mastery which will allow you to put the bigger non-dagger weapons in your offhand.
For Dagger builds your primary stat is Dexterity. My advice is to also make Cunning a primary stat since other talents will benefit from higher Cunning. It also gives you the advantage of making persuasion checks much easier, and opens up more dialog options. For this route it's vital that you take the rogue talent Lethality which will allow you to use your cunning for your damage modifier instead of your strength. As a bonus you will also have access to Evasion which is a nice defensive talent.
Regardless of which path you take you will want to take advantage of your backstab ability as much as possible. That means taking every opportunity possible to make a successful backstab. Many of your other talents, especially in the Assasin set, will further enhance the effect of your backstabs. To that end two must have talents for you are Combat Movement and Coup De Grace, both of these make it easier for you to pull off backstabs more often, and fortunately they're fairly easy to get.
For the Assasin style character I would go with the dagger focused spec. As this allows you to focus your stats more and get the most out of them. Pretty much all you need is Dex and Cunning, with just enough Willpower and Con to satisfy your basic needs you'll be fine.
For a dagger build your strength will not be high enough to equip the heavier armors, but even with a non-dagger build I would not suggest getting more then leather. Besides your Dex should be high enough that you should be able to simply avoid most blows, especially if you take evasion, plus the Dueling talents will also increase your defense significantly.

Thank you Kreidian. It is too bad the star-metal can not be made into daggers.

OK sorry, I was going to reply earlier but forum screwed up and wouldnt allow me to post until I re-entered my registration info, but here is by far the best post on rogue damage/builds I have come across:
http://social.biowar...66/index/223777
I am going longsword/dagger cunning build myself even though Dagger/Dagger cunning build seems to be best.
Hope this helps.
