If an enemy becomes frozen or petrified, is that the equivalent of death or does the effect wear off at some point? Thanks.

I believe the effect is temporary - there are spells which deal extra damage to or even shatter frozen enemies though, so it's temporary unless you take advantage of the situation I suppose.

It wears off after they make a resistance check, such as a physical one for petrified.

However, a single critical hit can finish them off in this state.

I believe as far as frozen goes if the spell is powerful enough or if the enemy is weak enough they will stay frozen? Maybe? Not 100% sure, but there's always the freeze and smash technique.

It wears off. Death occurs when the frozen/petrified targets get smashed to bits.

If that's the case, then will a Frozen/Petrified PC that gets critical'd die and force a reload?

I'm guessing the player cannot be shattered? Shame :(
