I have a turian setinel also, but I completely ignore tech armor. I max out fitness (all health and shields), overload, and warp. For weapons I use the Hornet SMG with ammo increase mods and Hand Cannon (pistol that I keep forgeting the actual name of) with scope and damage increase mods. I carry these because i just want a high cooldown reduction bonus. that and I don't have any mods for the mattock. Once I get mods for the mattock I think I'll switch only to that.
Combo move I use: Overload + 2 shots from hand cannon brings down preaty much any opponent without sheilds. With sheilds overload gets rid of them but doesn't stun them.
After reading this thread I may change my mind about the tech armor though. I liked it for good resistance towards bullets, but I hate it because it slows down power uses 80%. XP
Whats your Sentinel Strategy?

The biggest problem I find with Tech Armor is that the damage reduction isn't even noticeable on Gold. On Silver and Bronze yeah you can walk around like a tank almost never using cover. Gold though it is the difference from losing all but 1 bar of health or all but 1 and 1/4 of health with the max reduction 40%~ IIRC.
The Krogan Sentinel might be able to make use of the class by stacking the damage reductions but I doubt it. The casting skills basically limit you to a poor Adept or Engineer.
I think Tech Armor should of been the defensive charge. Scrap the insane detonation radius and passive shield boost. Let it replenish your shields on use. The caster Sentinel gets an "oh crap button" to make up for its limited skill set. The tank Sentinel gets something to run n gun with.

I quite like to play my sentinel as agressive sentinel - and I think the overshield burst is a much over looked power.
It's really useful - and awsome when you have a couple of weakened enemy hiding behind cover...just run in suicide bomber style and boom.
I normally play with the over shield off - only activating it if i start taking fire.
The only power i really bother using is Throw
I have warp but only to level 3 and rarely use it.
someone mentioned that the cooldown should be on activating the tech armour not detonating and i agree.
because while a detonation is great when your in a tight spot. not being able to use throw for what seems like ages is not a good thing.
A post activation cooldown would encourage people to play the sentinel with more aggro

When i first started playing human sentinel i was actually really disappointed.
Tech armor is pretty much useless and it being the core of the class it pretty much made any effort of mine to actually use the class fruitless. But then i started spamming throw and warp and things started to change.Having an maxed out salarian infiltrator widowholder with a decent team made gold so and so but with the sentinel even if the team is bad i can actually hold by myself easy! Throw is amazing for everything except phantoms and i pretty much outscore everyone short of a perfect vanguard and a really good asari adept..

Turian sentinel (because the other sentinels all gimped): Katana with Phalanx and the powers maxed out. I run around like a soldier without grenades and provide support with warp/overload where necessary.

The thing is though that it slows my power use by 80% something damaging to my throw warp combo...

On my Turian, I use tech armor situationally. In the midst of a big firefight, it activates instantly and still lets me launch a chain overload with no cooldown. Even with 1 point in, that 25% DR is big for defending choke points, reviving teammates, or staying on your feet long enough to take disable a turret or phantom in close quarters. Against mobs or in lower risk situations, I play overload heavy with a lot of shooting. If you ignore warp, the Turian becomes more survivable than anything not a Krogan and able to take on a lot of roles throughout the match. On bronze or silver, I usually end up with 50 kills, 50 assists, a bunch of tech kills, a bunch of revives, etc. If you're cool being the utility player and cycling between defense stripping, tanking, and damage dealing all match, it's really fun to play.

On my Turian Sentinel I've have tech armor specced for damage increase and dmg reduction, warp is specced for damage, and overload is too. Racial passive is for power damage and cooldown, meanwhile I only use the mattock. I can pretty much tank everything as I am now.

Its the single worst signature ability for MP atm. That isn't debatable. And by ability I'm talking about the on-use, not the passive DR - which is decent on bronze/silver. The 30%-40% DR is nearly unnoticable as human sentinel on Gold.
Throw spam is fun though, with it doing 10% more damage than asari's version via tech armor buff - and nearly the same CD if you choose -30% cd tech armor. Just if humans had a higher shield count.

Feel free to try this on Silver or Gold. You will lose your minor damage reduction, have a brand new cooldown, no enemies will be dead and your only option will be to shoot them. Anyone claiming that the Tech Armor detonation is effective has only used it on Bronze.
