So how do you like the balancing of the demo? I thought I start a discussion about it, since there are some things that are rather... well, surprising I guess. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great game. I just think, it needs a bit tweeking.

Pistols seem incredibly strong for instance, and once you put a scope on top of the M6-Carnifex, it easily matches the sniper rifles.
Smgs on the other hand seem to be quite useless, since the classes which you would expect to use these, have ridculously short cooldowns anyway. Even with a Mattock rifle, an asari adept gets a cooldown of 1 sec for throw, male adept is around 1.5 with the singularity. Haven't tried it with the engineer, but from what others say, it's similar.

In terms of classes, I'm a bit stuck with the sentinel. I usually play vanguard or adept, so maybe i'm just too stupid to play sentinel, but my performance always droppes by probably 80 percent. (And I haven't seen a good sentinal ingame either) For close combat, the vanguard is superior to the sentinel, hands down. By the time the sentinel gets even close to an enemy, a vanguard already nova-bombed 5 of them away. Sentinel can't use biotic combos and wreak havoc like an adept. For For sniping and raw weapon power, infiltrators and woldiers seem to be better suited.

Well, anyways. what's your opinion on this? What playstyle do you deem to be superior? Maybe there's even someone who yould explain me how to play as sentinel^^

It's not really balanced. Certain class/race combinations are noticeably better than others. Krogan Soldier, Turian Sentinel, and Asari Adept all make their human counterparts worthless once you unlock them. Meanwhile, human Vanguards and Engineers are extremely potent compared to what other races can achieve. Infiltrator is at least fair - human and Salarain are pretty evenly matched there.

Between the classes there is at least better balance. Adepts and Engineers are great at locking things down for support. Vanguards are by far the strongest killers, but their rewards are also high risk. Infiltrators have trouble with multiple opponents, but are kings of killing single targets. The classes aren't so badly balanced as the races are.

Pistols are extremely powerful. I use the Phalanx with scope and damage boost...pop a guardian twice in the head through their little window in the shield and it's over.

Given how powerful the pistols are, I think they should possibly beef up the shotguns more, although I haven't unlocked the M-300 yet.

I usually top charts with my soldier (Krogan) and Vanguard (human). My engineer got really good once I got his incinerate and combat drone leveled up. He really shines late in the round though...I typically from 3rd score to first in the last 3 waves.

A Krogan soldier that's specced correctly and knows how to play will beat out a Vanguard every time. I have both of them, both level 14, and the Vanguard can get around much more easily due to charge, but the Krogan's melee is so powerful that it's pretty ridiculous.

I'm relatively skilled with both classes, so I think mine is a pretty fair and accurate assessment.

I'll admit I think the Krogan is way cooler, but his added survivability makes him surpass the Vanguard in my opinion. One-shot a Nemesis with full shields? Melee an Atlas? Say what?

^ I agree.

I'd add that the vanguards are another class that are racially balanced, with the upcoming drop of Asari Vanguards, they'll all be pretty close in comparison.

but with a vanguard that knows how to play, will there be any enemys to headbutt by the time a krogan gets there?

Human soliders come across a bit weak, adrenaline rush could use a buff imo, it's final evolution is weak compared to others.

Pistols feel too strong. The revenant feels way too terrible, but I think it will come good a few upgrades down the line.

Stasis is too clutch, it's seriously insanely strong.

vanguards I can't play, not because I suck but because the bug out all the time.and fall through the floor.
