No she is alive, and you can get to talk with her over a call in me1. :)

Oh yeah and i just checked in ME2 that i got the letter from her aswell in there.

Yeah, I know, because whatever call that was, I must have missed it. And maybe that effected my story.

I only played through ME series once. I don't remember talking to my mother at all, but according to the wiki, that's an option. So, I must have missed something, because when I went to the space station where you get Garrus, etc, the news that plays aloud as you walk around stated she was killed.

really? you can talk to your mother in ME1 and do the "little side-quest" for each origin story (Spacer, Colonist, Earth-born)

do you remember hearing that "Hannah Shepard turned down an Admiral star blah blah . . . ." when you visit the Citadel, also did you recieve a message from your mother when your checking your mail on the Normandy?

Yeah, I didn't do those quests. Go figure I did everyone else's, but my own. XD

When I replay it, I'll see if anything changes, though, I was thinking my next playthrough, I was going to go renegade.

It's strange. I didn't think it would be possible to miss the call from Sheps mother.

I play a spacer myself on my "main" and I seem to remember the call automatically happening, when accessing the star map at some point in the story. Not absolutely certain though.

Is it possible to dismiss the call? Maybe that's what I did. "Sorry mom, saving the world. Bye." *click*

It might might be that yes, but I can't really remember the specifics from the quest. Can try looking it up though.

Well there is Metal Gear HD so it's not impposible that sometime in the future they would try to sell you the game you already own again with nicer graphics and DLC.

I was wrong, it starts in the Wards apparently.

Well, obviously spoilers if you haven't done it, but here is a link to read about it: http://masseffect.wi..._Far-Off_Things

Each Pre-service history has it's own unique quest. The wiki is great for this kind of stuff.

According to this interview with Casey Hudson from 3 days at CVG

source: http://www.computera...ly-good/?page=2

there's a new game+ :

Can you carry that on after you finish the story - or does finishing the story wrap up the war?
Because the story is about the final end in total war against the Reapers, that really is the interest in the game experience. So, you'll be able to play after the game ends, obviously, in a number of different ways.
We have a New Game Plus, so you take that character from the end-game and restart the game with a powerful character. We also have a premise for being able to play ongoing adventures from the perspective of the middle of the game, like we had in Mass Effect 2.

Yeah, it can be easy to miss some of the quests because they initiates at a certain point in the story, at a certain place on the citadel :P

I'm personally doing a rerun because I missed a minor detail that I know is gonna be imported, so I know the feeling :P

I've played ME1 so many times I almost can't miss anything anymore.

I thought so too, man. But then I found out about a certain trinket usable on a certain world. The trinket was always described as worthless and since it didn't have a quest associated with it I just went about my buisness.

Would this be the trinket the consort gives you?

Yeah, I usually do the Consort assignment before I go out to explore the galaxy, so I've always had it when I hit that planet.

Could you provide a link? I'd like to know how I know if I still have it in my ME2 playthrough, if at all. >_>

I do so too, I'm usually quite the completionist when it comes to my main playthrough.

But I must have been drunk or not paying enough attention. Both very likely ;)

Read the part about the trinket. It's not a quest in the traditional sense.
