That concept is more environment art, the ships are probably place holder or they may not even be military.

I don't think theirs anything wrong with them being dreadnaughts. I know from the codex that it says they can't land but it never said anything like they couldn't enter atmosphere. I'm not here to defend anything but it looks like a lot of things are going to be retconed. I hope we get to see carriers. Shep said humanity first came up with the idea so I want to some of that old fashioned human ingenuity.

Oh and I never thought anything had to be taken seriously with the trailer. Its all romantic and glorified and reminds me too much of a good military parade/air show.

NP its easy to miss the frigates in the battle of the citadel anyway because you only see them a few times and they are easy to get mixed up with the fighters you see due to the similar shapes.

^ Whats really weird is that when you zoom in on that Star destroyer It has "Normandy SR12" written on the side;P

Edit: quote the message and you can see it in the larger picture.

IMO, what it looks like so far could be:

a) A new heavy cruiser
B) Carriers (hence all the fighters
c) Dreadnaughts that are further away, and only in tight formation to reach somewhere else quickly
d) They could be high enough in the upper atmosphere to avoid most of the repercussions of firing a DN's main gun close to a planet
Or e) Bioware retconned the f*ck out of everything and I can just go crawl in a hole and die.

Marketing doesn't care about lore, so no reason to see it as dreads, or as a retcon.

While I agree its no reason to see it as a Retcon, It is a reason to see it as Dreads because regardless if marketing cares the models are still taken from somewhere and they are clearly ship designs we have not seen before and that are very similar to ones in the new artbook that show them as being clearly much larger than the Alliance Cruisers that we have seen before. That is plenty of evidence to suspect that they may be Dreadnaughts, what they are doing in the trailer is irrelevant yes because its a marketing trailer and has nothing to do with the actual game. However they may still very well be our first good look at Alliance Dreadnaughts (Aside from the art book if thats what they are)

From the size of it, I'm sorry, but it is a dreadnought. As for the other type mentioned above, we know there are atleast 2 classes of Systems Alliance Dreadnought.

It probably is a Dreadnought but the Trailer doesn't show the scale very well. A Dreadnought should look pretty damn big.

The only classes of Alliance ships seen at the Battle of the Citadel were Cruisers, Fighters, and the one Normandy class Frigate. There were no other frigates present, or at the very least, no other frigates seen. This is fact because these are the only CGI models Bioware went to the trouble of creating for the Alliance.

There is more than one normandy class frigate in the battle however, you can see this in several scenes during the actual attack on soverign, this could mean that all alliance frigates look like the normandy or it could mean that they just did that because they only had the three models. The red circled ships are still too large to be frigates regardless, since the normandy SR-2 is larger than the Normandy and probably larger than Alliance Frigates, the fact that it is in front of the other ships and much closer to the point of view makes the red circled ships far too large to be Frigates.

well lets say that a standard Systems Alliance cruiser is about...500 meters long. Pure guess work, but I think it's a number that works. We know an Everest class dreadnought is about 888 meters. Now if you look at that pic I provided from the art book, the scale looks about right. Systems Alliance ships are not THAT big. It's the Asari that made the monster that is/was the DA.

This is key thing here. Don't know why people are arguing about the lore error in it, when we are seeing it in a ridiculous cinematic trailer where Shepard attack a Brawler with an Omni-blade.

North America is where ME3 freaking started! Seriously wasn't the original complaint about Earth being pwned stories was that they usually had Africa getting screwed up first?

I'm prety shure that 99% of all released movies/games are set in North America. I find that kinda normal sinds also 99% of companys are based there it don't bother me.

Also, the larger ships basically are in a battle of heat buildup. You cannot dissipate heat in ~60 degree atmosphere as fast as sub-zero vaccum of space.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Other way around bub.
Vacuum = no medium to transer heat to. Which is why ships dissipate heat in atmosphere....in space, you can only radiate heat, and that isn't efficient.

Contrary to popular belief, space isn't really cold.
