Anyone share my view that a porn clip is nasty, or do you guys think there's no such thing as romance without the porn?
Does Romance require porno sequence?

How old are you? Should you really be playing a game rated 15+?
Wut? ME has always been rated 17+

I thought the ME1 scenes were tastefully done with just the right amount of skin, but liked that the ME2 scenes were LI-specific. The ME2 scenes ranged from almost nothing (Garrus) to exhibitionist dry-humping in the engine room (poor Miri, I thought she was classier than that), neither of which I found particularly satisfying.
So, I'd prefer ME1-style scenes with more intimacy, less awkwardly-animated characters clambering on top of each other, less clothing and more subtlety (for want of a better word). Having them be LI-specific would be best.

He's referring to the UK or Aussie ratings. In the USA, it's 17+, not so overseas, though.Kyria Nyriese wrote...

I realize there's even worse porn on television, but I think the quality of television has been going downhill for a long time. Maybe computer games, now that they've been ruled an art in courts, are going to supplant television.
I just wish Bioware would lead the art side, you know, instead of becoming the "Skinemax" of video games with all the low-reputation that brings with it.

My point was that, at some point, people tend to start getting interested in things other than chaste romance. From the original post, I got the impression that the poster had not yet reached that stage (since nothing is actually shown, it must be the idea of the act that offended him rather than a graphical depiction, which we agree would not be appropriate)I think it's funny how asking a simple question like this leads to the gratuitous "how old are you" stuff and all that

Really, compare the love scenes from ME1 and 2 to the love scenes from Witcher 2 and you'll see how tame ME is.

Yes, I found the ME1 scene tasteful enough that I didn't have to leave the room, but I still prefer the suggestion that sex will/has happened to any graphical representation. As you might guess, I don't pursue the virtual romances at all except to the extent I must for the achievement.
So I followed the hetero, same-species Shepard and Miranda in ME2, and got the quite sad full-blown porn on the deckplates. Cold, loveless, mechanical just like any porn there is. Sad.

The fact you equate a tastefully done romantic scene with pornography simply because there is nudity is probably what leads people to believe you are quite young.

On topic, I would make a distinction between sex and porn. Sex can beheavily implied without the gratuitous visuals of pornography. Either way, we will not see anything approaching R rated movies in ME3. At the most, some side-boob.

Well, that's the thing I'm trying to figure out. Everyone knows that romance is never chaste, really. Thus, all the kids down the line.
The sexual part can be artfully suggested, many famous movies (pre-1970) had notable seens. Kissing on hugging on the beach ... fade to waves crashing ashore ... fade to the next day. We know what went down, we can all imagine it in the way best suited to our personal tastes. Art.

The tastefulness, Romance, & Individual scenes of ME 2
And the realism romance of ME 1, Because As tasteful as Jack or Garrus was, I prefer to not lose my immersion by going (" Are they humping in their clothes or something.."ಠ_ಠ) or feeling cheated n Disappoint (*Head Bump* fades to Black) ಠ_ಠ... "WTF!"

You don't see The Witcher 2 getting the same kind of bad press for it's sex scenes like the ME series or having the people who created The Witcher 2 getting attacked for including it. Bioware after one bout of bad press became prudes and have gimped every game since ME1 in the romance bedroom scenes because of it.
Seriously because of Fox, Bioware crapped their pants and said never again. This is why we get crappy romance scenes with just bras and panties.

OP needs to learn a sex scene does not equal porn.
I see, so your answer to my question is that romance requires a sex scene, and that a sex scene is not necessarily porn.
In ME2 what I observed was Miranda atop Shepard on the deckplates of engineering bouncing up and down like a pogo-stick.
Does that qualify as porn to you?
