On the forum, I've been seeing quite a lot of hate for the unlock system. As someone who has probably played 7-8 hours of the multiplayer already, I have to disagree with some of those people. But I think there are some ways to counteract the negative feedback while still keeping the current unlock system.

If any of you have ever played Team Fortress 2, you'll know that it has a similar unlock system. However, people have never complained about the way it works in Tf2. You know why? There's item trading. If Mass Effect 3 implemented some sort of trade system, a lot more people would be happier. I can't say how exactly it would work, but I'm sure Bioware could do a pretty good job following the TF2 model.

Also, I am wondering why Bioware chose the random unlock system in the first place. Not that I'm complaing, but there would definitely be less haters if there was a clearer level of progression. COD and BF3 have pretty good unlock tree which is not randomized, so what is the big advantage of having random unlocks?

Anyways, thank you. Please post your thoughts.

Oh, and why is there a Krogan sentinel? I've never seen a Krogan that used tech powers and biotic krogans are rare enough. A drugged up Volus would have been better, with a tech ability to bribe the enemy team with credits.

But in TF2 can't you actually get duplicates of items. Unlike here. Why give away the only item of it's kind?

From what little I've seen the unlock system seems to work a little better on Silver or Gold difficulties because if you can power through you'll get substantially more $.

On the other hand I feel like I've put in a fair amount of time and I'm not impressed with my weapon set.
