I like Ash. She is a Marine at the same time has a soft spot. She reecites poetry but would take a bullet for a fellow squadmate or her family. She's not afraid of her opinions. She's not racist. I wouldn't even call her xenophobic. I don't hate the Chinese or Russians. But if on I was on the US most advance Submarine and the captain brought on a spetsnaz soldier and Chinese engineer well I would be a bit worried to.
So all in all Ash is my favorite Squadmate. But I do like Tali as well. Mostly because of her backstory and the culture of the Quarians.

I meant that ashley would not risk her life to save an alien.
Are you talking about a random alien? If so the only people in the squad that would do that is Paragon Shepard and Samara. That's it.

Not true. Depends on the alien and how many.
At the end of the day, Ashley will give her life -even if it is stupid- if she believes she's doing the right thing. Saving an innocent human, or an alien, is something she would do. The race doesn't matter. The Geth don't count though.

Tali's romance doesn't even make sense. It's so stupid all around.
So I vote you romance ANYBODY but Tali. Yes, even Jacob.
This is why you don't make threads like this.

I am just happy no one is saying to romance jack.
Compared to the Ash and Tali romances Jack's is actually pretty good. Not a huge fan of her character design, but she is one of the only ME2 romances that did not feel rushed and overly contrived to me.
I like Tali's romance from Tali's point of view, as it is certainly possible that she has been crushing on Shep since they first met. Just not a huge fan of it from Shep's point of view as it feels like he is taking advantage of her youth and inexperience a little bit. Besides, that creepy smile of his from the second (I think) love talk is just, well, creepy. It's amost as bad as what happens to FemSheps face during the Jacob romance.
Ashley has never really been a character I particularly enjoy. Her family background is good, and certainly explains her racist like disposition but I just can't get past that. Have nothing against her religious beliefs per say, but they do jare a little bit with how she greets you on Horizon.
Pretty much agree 100 percent with this. Jack I think had the deepest and more realistic romance of the two games. Ashley just wasn't that likeable of a character and she all but breaks up with you minus the regretfull email of all things in ME 2. Given the chance, she's on my hit list for ME 3 just because they are forcing her on me despite my dislike for the character. Tali I enjoyed but felt it was not explored enough in ME 1 to make it as smooth going into 2. I felt like I must have missed something because she appreciated the help in ME 1 somehow that turned to she liked you all that time. Also, yeah it was a bit creepy as she is pretty innocent compared to Shepard.

Why not play twice and do them both. These arguments don't make much sense.
