Common equipment isn't that bad. Mantis for example is ok sniper rifle for human infiltrator on Silver as long as you remember to take headshots (or tankshots for Pyros). Avenger on the other hand works wonders with adrenaline buffed human soldier.

Don't go solo, don't go all Rambo, stick with cover and the team - emphasis on the former, if team acts like idiots following them into a certain death like lemmings is not a smart move. And for ************* use the consumables, you are not going to get any awards for bringing them back - for example using a rocket or two to blast away wave 10 bosses is not a mark of weakness.

I find Silver to be a cakewalk, but that just might be my level X weapons talking...

And don't go for spectre packs until you max uncommon weapons, in case you didn't do so already. Many of the uncommon weapons are excellent.

telling someone who is having a difficulty with a difficulty level (silver) that you dont have a problem yourself with it is not really helpful except maybe for your own ego.

Other than that telling him/her to go and play bronze again is not helpful either.
Giving tips would be much better except that there are so many threads already that repeating them here is a bit pointless.

So basically theres a hard way (trying to improve and sometimes its just luck about the composition and the experience of the rest of the team) and an easy (going back to bronze is a lot more free of stress and frustration but your not getting better fast and it can take like forever to improve your equipment which helps alot on the higher silver and gold levels.

Other than that, lots of tips can be found here if you search the forum for the classes you like and have and their strategies you can use on silver and gold levels.

Same playstyle as on bronze wont work though anymore as you found out already...

Lol its funny how its always the people with the great gear who says that. I've played enough of this game to realise skill only plays a small part. Don't kid yourself. If you can take enemies down faster you have less chance of getting swarmed and if you can deal with strong enemies rather quickly because of your weapon strenght then its gonna be a lot easier.

I got my weapons and gear by playing the game, and winning. (basically, not sucking at the game)

The fact that I am better than the average player has nothing to do with my weapons. I'd say that knowing how all of the classes work, and being able to know where all of the enemies are going to spawn by looking at where my team is positioned on the map contribute more to that than having high level weapons.

I think for someone doing bronze before and finding it a bit easy now and then looks for the next challenge, silver can be a big step.

The toughness of the enemy will need different thinking, tactics to beat them and if you dont have some of the stronger equipment you need different tactics and aproach in how to play your class all the more.

Additionally its not just the gear but also the classes.
Im not saying some of them are not usable behind bronze but that they maybe wont fit your playstyle anymore the more papertiger like they become to you with higher difficulties.

In your case i would rethink if you really wanna go more and more silver especially if it is with random players. If you still feel like it, you could try out some classes that rely mostly on their tech- or biotic skillsets like Adepts and Engineers.

Maybe doing some silver runs with the goal to stick to one person and see how hes doing wont be so bad either. You can reive and give additional firepower and maybe you see differences in how he behaves or tackles situations.
I do that sometimes myself just for fun to see if i can find something new.

If all this wont help you will probably have to endure because the human is build in a way were we learn from errors and fails more than from wins.
So the more you lose the more you learn (probably).

I mean if you wanna do silver now because bronze became to easy then you must have improved right? You will continue to improve and at some point you will feel the same way about silver.

Its just that some people are like that already and they tend to forget how it was when they started playing... ^^

edit: man am i bored. accidentally anwsered to a sooooo old thread. ^^
