2da editing in steam??

how do i put edited 2da files inTo a nwn2 game?
like if i wanna play a drow character without the -2 levels?

After you edit the .2da file, you put it in the mydocs->nwn2->override directory. Don't mess with the override directory that is in the atari folder, that can cause problems down the road.

If you use the 2DA editor in the toolset, then simply altering and saving the 2DA should automatically save the copy to your 'My Documents' override folder.

Don't use the toolset's 2da editor, use a text editing program, a 2da editing program you find on the vault, or even excel ( even though you will have to check it imports all the columns properly, 2da's can be space delimited or tab delimited which makes excel sometimes have trouble with them ).

I've never had any trouble with the toolset's 2DA editor. I've found it easy to use, and it formats the 2DA text file for you (so you can't fubarise it big-time like you can editing manually in a text editor like Notepad).

So my advice is *do* use it. Image IPB

The nice thing about it is that it renumbers all the rows for you. It does overspace everything, though, and aligns it on the other side. I personally do most of the actual editing in plain old Notepad or something.
