I was poised ready to start hating on the multiplayer but I'm actually really enjoying it, go figure. Still very much looking forward to the single player though. Not sure if I'm gonna play multiplayer first to help out my Shep in the main story or not though. I might not be able to resist playing the single player right away.

I was thinking that, too... I must have honed my Vanguard skills to a fine edge during these last days. It'll probably make the SP game a breeze.

Agreed the multiplayer is what is going to keep me coming back, because I am a bit iffy on the single player experience at this time, they have too much to cover and so little disk space to do it.

It will never reach such heights for me, Kusy, but it's definitely a fun experience.

That's to show how good bioware is at making games. It's a story oriented RPG and still the gameplay is so good that it's more addictive than crack.

And people were worried about their turn-based gameplay. I like this so much better.

I have to agree. Each time I think about the SP experience, "meh" but I can't help but think..what if I play through the SP fast so I get more MP stuff. Not to mention this demo only has half the content available (to be honest..it feels less).

Of course I want to finish the story and I'm sure SP will be fantastic..but...my god..playing an asari adept and salarian infiltrator are just way too fun.

Yeah. I hate to say it, because I'm absolutely nuts for the game's story, but I'm immediately diving into multiplayer as soon as I own the game. It's way too fun.

My only big problem with the multiplayer is that it's extremely buggy.

I swear, for every match that takes off, there are at least twenty that either get stuck in the lobby forever due to one person who disconnects upon entering the lobby or who somehow never hits ready (this happens way too frequently for me to chalk it up to stupidity--it has to be a bug), or my game freezes, or my team falls apart for whatever reason. It's borderline unplayable, which sucks because it's so great when it works.

I hope that, in the official release, I won't have to spend 20 minutes at a time cycling through quick matches to find those rare groups where everyone is there, ready to go, and there aren't any connection problems, and maybe they're willing to play on a level besides bronze, and my game doesn't freeze, and the host doesn't decide to ditch us (or anyone else for that matter), etc.

As for the single-player mode, naturally the demo was a little underwhelming there. I think it just isn't the sort of game that can be well represented in a demo. I'm still looking forward to it.

ME1 > great RPG/TPS single player story

ME2 > Crap single player story, limited RPG, mostly TPS

ME3 > What single player? Lets shoot the baddies online!!

I agree with the OP's sentiments. Im seriously considering maxing out a few characters in MP before starting the single player campaign. Firstly, so I have some assets to move to the GaW map and secondly because the MP is so addictive.

Last night, I got glitched into a wall. I was in cover in front of an Atlas. Tried rolling away and ended up on the level above stuck in the wall. Most of that match, the entire screen was jumpy and it felt like I was floating rather than walking or storming.

During one match I happened to be hosting, a phantom hit me with her sword and the entire thing locked up causing me to restart, costing everyone all that experience and credits.

Half my time seems to be spent looking for a Bronze match where everyone is ready to go and seeing one or two people over and over again. Or you find 3 other people you work very well with only to have them quit during the game or right after the match ends and have to start the process over again.

Still, I keep playing it, because it's the most fun I've ever had in multi-player when it's working perfectly. Insanely addictive, and that's with one enemy faction and two maps.

Then you remember that your 3 human teammates have been replaced by 2 idiot AI ones just in time to get stomped by that 1 Atlas.

There are probably several reasons why single player has taken kind of a backseat right now. First of all, any class you have they give you 4 weapons. This severely limits the caster classes..or really any class that wants to use abilities. Second, it's the same mission we've seen over and over again since E3. It's gotten old. Not to mention the demo isn't as long as ME2 demo. I enjoyed playing ME2 demo several times over because it was long enough that it was worth it. ME3 has more talking and really short gameplay - which isn't bad..but the talking won't be new after you've heard it several times.

ME3 MP demo is just giving people the gameplay perspective. I fully enjoy it - it's one of the reasons why I played ME2 so many times.

The multiplayer is great fun, but yet again i faced the bad things in every single multiplayer game. People who have no idea what they are doing. I know we should be polite and nice to the new people, but c'mon, you cant be lvl 1 and join a Gold game, expecting to do something. Just a minutes ago, i joined a Gold challenge game, where my entire squad had no idea what to do and where to go (and they were between lvl 10-15). We've been 2 asari in-game and i was the only one who was spamming stasis and warp like crazy, while the other one haven't used it even once lol. To get worst its been all day long like this, when i try to find a decend Gold challenge game. Since i can't speak to anyone in-game due to unworking chat option, i want to say it here: If you don't feel ready to play the most harder challenge, just stick with the bronze and the silver games, otherwise you're just ruining other ppl games. I don't want to offend anyone, everybody was new and need to learn the game, but the gold game isnt really the place to do it.
Probably thats why, the single player part, will remain the best aspect of the game for me, and not the multiplayer, although its very fun most of the time! :)

There's a list that will steadily grow on how to make co-op better, but I agree it's quite good and I was pretty cynical about it in the first place. I hope Bioware listens to feedback regarding Co-op and they continue to support it with patches and improvements.

I'm enjoying it and playing it much more than I anticipated. When the demo came out I played the SP part 3 times and then started playing MP...and haven't gone back to the SP since. Which is strange because I planned to do 6 runs in SP to test out all the classes.

I still can't understand WHY I like it so damn much. It completely baffles me.

The negatives are there. The cover/movement system isn't the same quality as Gears. It's glitchy. The animations are stiff and sometimes not even that good at all.

But something about it... I'm just addicted. I didn't want it to fail, but I expected it to be mediocre. I've been proven wrong. And I admit it.

I'm the same way. I dont know why I love it, but I do. It is so fun.

I'm bored of the MP now, mostly because A) I can't unlock the widow and B) only 2 maps.

I know there will be more maps and baddies in the full game, but yeah. SP first always.

Wow, when I saw the title of this thread, I was expecting it to be from an MP-hater whining that the single-player was being pushed aside in the demo and in marketing. Nice to see so many people enjoying it, even from people who admitted they didn't like it when it was first announced.

I thought MP would destroy ME but I couldn't have been more wrong. Been playing the demo non-stop. I'm trading in Modern Warfare 3 tomorrow and finally pre-ordering ME3.

Yeah, I'm in the dilemma in trying to figure how I'm going to fit in the multiplayer with the singleplayer, and right now multiplayer is becoming more of an importance as I can rely on those war assets from it. =D
