It really should be named commando. But that made me thinking.. What if there were super-uber-rare option in those veteran boxes to be able to have 4th skill and that would decide will your commando become a justicar, ardat-yakshi atc. Justicar could have the reave and ardat-yakshi the dominate. You know the number 4 key holds no skill at all at the moment. This should apply for other races as well. I wish you got my point :P

You don't become Ardat-yakshi lol. You are born one. =)

Sadly not. But also the setting doesn't provide a good lore background to do so. I would gladly play an AY though. :)

True. Only possible (and sensible) option would be to randomly get some on these 3 (commando, justicar, ay) backgrounds when you unlock the asari adept. I highly doubt this will ever be happening because people would start whining that they got justicar when they wanted to become ay. Or you could pick which one you would like to be. But this isnt flawless plan either. What about Turian or Quarian for example, players who use those will want to have similar options. Ofc bioware could just create some random backgrounds but it would be stupid. Shame.

A few excerpts from the Codex:

-“Asari Commandos are powerful asari biotics who form the elite of the asari military.”

-“They are considered amongst the finest individual warriors in the galaxy, comparable to Krogan Battlemasters.”

versus

-Justicars are an asari class of virtually untouchable, extra-judicial executioners operating almost exclusively within asari territory.

-“Although justicars generally work alone, their effectiveness arises from the huge body of knowledge they can access. Any asari who enters the ranks of justicars has already spent centuries in a combination of criminal investigation, military intelligence, and combat experience; the collective body of justicar knowledge exceeds even that of the Spectres.”

-“Justicars tend to be independent, requiring little help but also scorning it since such advanced skill and experience usually travels with a powerful ego. The conflicts presented by such arrogance prompted the Justicar Order to develop the Oaths of Subsumation.”

Honestly now, which seems to fit the MP gameplay the best? Personal preferences aside.

Also: say we had Aria T’Loak – major badass, love her as I do Samara – as a squadmate, and her class was, dunno, “Omega Ruler” or whatever. Hey, that’s unique, how about Omega Ruler instead of Justicar or Commando? Or how about Ardat-Yakshi, which was Morinth’s class. That’s certainly unique, and Morinth’s power rivaled that of Samara’s. Why not Spectres – more unique and skilled - instead of Alliance Soldier for Humans?
See where I’m getting at? Image IPB

Not sure if it's been mentioned in here... While I also totally 100% agree on the Justicar topic, doesn't it bother anyone else that you have the option of changing a quarian's "skin tone"?

Both of these are minor things that need fixed, no doubt.

I thought it was just named skin, but it is the helmet glass. Just need to change the name to glass.

The way I see it is that Justicars seem to take their oaths later in life, meaning that Justicars (like Samara)could have had military training prior to becoming Justicars, meaning they likely spent time either as Asari Marines, or Commando units if they were skilled. This would give them experience that would assist them in their time as Justicars.
In this regard a Justicar would be like a particularly powerful and experienced commando that for whatever reason took an oath as an enforcer of Asari law. They get training as a Justicar but that is in addition to their prior training and time as a commando.

On a kinda unrelated note I think Tela Vasir ( The Vanguard Asari spectre from Lair of the Shadow broker) is a good example of a powerful Asari Commando type that went on to something else,in this case being a spectre. She is a fair deal more competent than the commandos you stomp in droves fro the rest of the game, but still (probably, since I don't know for sure she did) was/is an asari commando.

going in another random direction I think Calling the class Commando fits better since it describes a broad range of skill levels, where as a Justicar seems to require more experience and training in order to be able to pursue and apprehend violators of Asari Law. And while I'm sure that Justicars ARE taking part in the conflict SOMEWHERE, It seems like they'd have their own tasks to do rather than the missions present in me3's multiplayer.
What sorts of missions would you give to Samara during wartime? *shrug*
Just my random thoughts on the issue. XD
erm. TLDR: go back and read it lazy monkey. Just call the class Commando and be done with it.

I just remember the idea that the Justicar's were VERY rare, and that they were sorta like Asari super-heroes. Not saying that the player shouldn't feel empowered or anything, but co-op wise we should all just be grunts.

I did thought it was weird being a Justicar, but changing it to Commando would be like nerfing the name! I mean, just the name Justicar feels powerful, plus the Disciple = WIN

Guys, I unlocked the asari vanguard class with a mod, and it's passive is also called Justicar, same as all humans have alliance training. So both vanguards and adepts will be renamed to commando, or will remain justicar.

Yeah, I found that a little odd too.

If she was a Justicar, I doubt she'd be hanging around with Hackett and the bunch instead of trying to defend Thessia.
