Rolling. At first I was struggled to cover/roll thing but now I am enjoying mobility it brigns very much.
Switching covers without leaving cover is usefull. Rolling thru enemy and bio-punching them is awesome.
I wish we had Barrier form ME 2. So my Adept Shep can be more dauntless in fights.

I'm particularly fond of the Adept's heavy melee attack, because it's got a surprisingly wide range and essentially functions as a point-blank Throw strike. I'm not sure if the Vanguard shares that precise advantage, as I haven't experimented with that yet.
In terms of practicality, I like being able to roll directly from one piece of cover to another and being able to sprint directly out the side of cover (these two moves are available when you lean toward the side of cover and a blue arrow appears, pointing to the side or around the cover, respectively). It used to be that whenever you wanted to move out of cover, you had to manually stand up and paint a target on your head, and then bloody shuffle around to wherever you wanted to go.
In terms of powers, I'm liking the new grenade varieties, although it's a bit of a pain figuring out how to aim them at first.

Definitely the ability to roll. It gives me probably 100% more survivability than in ME2. You basically never get hit while rolling, to when in a sticky situation, roll away. I've got the controls down now and am just doing diagonal roll through doorways, down ramps, off ladders, etc.
Oh, and the asari heavy melee. yeahhh

Nova looks the coolest but I think the move I value the most is the roll (esp the asari dash)

I saw that Arrow/Fist symbol but didn't know what to press. Do you just melee?
I don't like the Omni-blades, I think they're just dumb. BUT, I did think the Biotic Punch was cool. I've played the Soldier, Infiltator, Adept, and ... the Engineer I think. Sentry Gun/Floating Ball combo.
*rages out not remembering theat ability*

The over-cover neck stab is sweet.
And the vanguard's FALCON PUNCH is pretty awesome too.
edit: Yes you just hit melee to grab them over cover when the fist appear. You have to do it quick and it doesn't always work, they run away from you when you are in position to do it.

Yeah, charge + nova = autowin...course you do it wrong and you're now in the middle of everything with no shields.
And we vanguards call that 'balance'

I know this is a bit off-topic, but speaking of new moves, has anyone found the sweet spot of taking control of the mech?

Depends on the class you're playing, Biotics use a Biotic punch instead.
I know, but destroying the enemies' head with your fist... I don't even... so awesome...
Pure, unadulterated WIN. Love the cover grabs.

Loving nova. The cover grab thing is also kickass.

It's got to be Nova. Low cooldowns between Charge and Nova, entire squads get wiped out.
Get a couple of good Nova Vanguards and you can skip enemies on the waves.
Covergrab is awesome as well, but it only takes care of one guy.

Nova - incessant rolling - charge - melee. Biotic ball of destruction!

Okay, I saw the cover grab with a Drell Vanguard. It was pretty freakin' cool, lol.
I find it strange that there are no Drell Infiltrators. Hmm. Anyways.
