Do you think the Mass Effect 2 dialogue was bad, because after playing the Mass Effect 3 demo I'd say even predator had great dialogue!

the writing in the DA2 demo was bad, but the writing in that game ended up being top notch.

You're asking if ME2 dialogue is bad because you played the ME3 demo? I'm confused.

I thought the writing in ME2, barring a few scenes, was about standard Bioware quality. Take that as you will.

I think Mass Effect has had a fine cheesy consistency throughout. Though nothing is quite so useless as "we fight or we die."

I thought ME2 writing was pretty good.
Then again, what are we comparing it to?

Out of context it was stupid at first but not so much now, to me anyway.

Some of it. I dont mind the cheese because Mass Effect 2 didnt take itself too seriously.

It was a HELL of a lot better than in Mass Effect 1, that's for damn sure. The squadmates actually had personalities and motives this time around, instead of passively jumping on the Shep-train.

And the overall story was far better as well. Less plotholes, for one thing.

Oh gotcha. Most of the dialogue in ME2 was excellent. Some of it was nothing special. The ME3 demo dialogue was bad.

Edit: Although I understand that your question is rhetorical.

To be honest, the writing was good. Compared to ME1 though, there just was not enough "epicness"
involved. I went from rallying fleets to hunting a single ship with a single ship. That was a bit disappointing.

I get all tingly and excited when I hear that.

Agree to disagree?

I didn't have a problem with the dialogue, but the narrative pacing, and plot were atrocious.

I really don't understand the big stink about this one line.  I mean what the hell do you expect him to say?  The reapers had just shown up he didn't have time for some long monologue.

The Godfather.

Well then ME2 writing was caveman scribbles on a wall. :P

In reality though, I think ME2 had great writing, but some sections of ME1 overtook it. Saren <3

I am reminded by this scene in the Godfather whenever I see the whiny officers in the council.
