One turret isn't so bad, but when a couple of engineers plant turrets on 2 sides of a wide open area? That's just a kill box. I just leave that area completely and focus on fighting on the other side, waiting for the enemy to come to me.

Yeah, we had that happen on a Hack wave on Silver at the Noveria spawn point.  We got the credits by holding hands and chain reviving, but getting out of there wasn't happening.

Salarian infiltrator meet turret.
Cloak -> en drain -> widow -> dead. Even the mantis works, though might take an extra shot. No excuses for a turret to be up if you have one on your team, unless there not in that general area

Cover+Overload+Widow/Carnifex=No More Turret.

Turrets aren't a threat to me anymore.

Turrets usually only bug me when the designated target is the engineer taking cover next to it. Other times I take advantage of the fact that turrets can't chase me around the map.

Sorry brah, bring an infiltrator or a soldier with a viper, Turrets should be the least of your problems in comparison to phantoms and Atlas mechs.

Homeydog that works except when your playing an under level vanguard and the best of the team decides to leave 5 or so turrets up when your taking care of the atlas >.>

Just wait when you finally have a Quarian Infiltrator in your team on the full game, You will wished they buffed the Turrets.

I like that the turrets are such a huge threat. You have to think to get around them or defeat them. Stop whining tbh.

Turrets are only hard imo when:

-You are new to the MP
-When one of your team mates decides to be a silly sausage and get himself killed in front of a turret
-When you have an objective and you get unlucky enough to have multiple turrets or heaps of enemies around turret(s)

Besides that there are some classes that can take down the turrets very easily...and if you don't have those classes in your team they still aren't THAT bad. Phantoms are harder.

the problem is, even if you freeze them with stasis before the manage to plant the turret it will still spawn, they should make the turret to unable to spawn until the engineer finishes the deployment.

This is a viable sollution. They should make it that the Engineer slowly "builds" the defenses for the turret, if you kill the engineer before he finishes turret would be weaker.

Man, people are just looking for anything to complain about, it seems.

The turrets present a unique challenge, just like the phantom -- nothing else. Neither are crippling or game-ending, they just require a bit more finesse. Working as a TEAM makes both terribly simple, but it's not even necessary... just easier. In my experience, turrets tend to punish lone wolves very nicely. This is a very team-oriented game. Play it as such.

my problem with turrets is the fact the playable engineers turrets suck so much compared to the enemies

My biggest problem with turrets has been when I've charged in to help a downed squaddie only to realise too late that the reason for their death was a turret. Its difficult to look for a new target to charge when a turret is turning you into raspberry jam.

Tip of the day:
Give a quick check to the kill-feed on the lower right corner when any of your teammates gets killed.
It can save you from unexpected turrets/phantoms.

That's a good tip that I wish I had followed before ...

BTW:  I'm all for keeping Turrets & Phantoms.  Really without these I could just solo and wouldn't even WANT to play MP ....

I agree that turrets are tough and make engineers high priority targets, but that's the point of them. Without turrets, a high level vanguard can just charge around with impunity (which we do anyways, we just get downed by the turrets). They're not even that tough as long as you see them. Just assume that if there's an engineer, there's at least 1 turret.

Indeed! But apparently Sabotage can turn the enemies own turrets against them, so I will settle for eventually being able to use Sabotage.

Please don't nerf turrets. They are awesome the way they are :)

The player turrets could really use a big boost though. I'd love to see the Engineer put down some proper defensive firepower.

Yes they are easy enough to deal with as they are.  Just a matter of being aware of where they usually get placed and keeping your ears and eyes open.

That's why you have to kill those engineers quickly. I played with a good group where the engineers weren't able to get down more that one turret or so. As soon as they were identified they were dead in like 2 seconds. I'm not going to say turrets are easy or that you suck or something, because I've been killed by them. But everything that can kill you quickly doesn't need to be changed.

omg ppl come on! the Ai is the best I have ever gone up against in any video game why ruin it by nerfing one of the toughest enemies. the damn thing can only rotate and look up and down. pay attention to your surroundings if you dont want to die. do that or dont play its that simple i promise.

The turrets are tough because they can sometimes be hard to notice. I'm used to tracking moving enemies that when something stationary starts unloading into my face I just then notice "Oh hai, a turret". It's not that they are difficult. It's that they cut off your retreat while you're being mobbed, or multiple end up set up crossfiring on an objective, or that if you happen to not see it on the first glance it can basically straight out kill you on the first clip.

I almost drooled while looking at that class. Literally, I don't think I will ever play as anything else. It's like...the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
