I played the demo and one of the points I was confused about was the lack of early warning on the reaper invasion. Wouldn't a mass of incoming reapers have triggered some alert somewhere on a radar screen or on some alliance patrol? I'm finding it difficult to believe that in a time where citadel fleets are supposed to be patrolling most parts of space, a couple of dozen (or hundred) giant spaceships could sneak up on a planet as important on earth. I was expecting the invasion to involve a period of nervous waiting while the reapers come closer on radar, and then seeing a mass of reaper's landing through a hail of anti-aircraft fire from the ground, not suddenly showing up on a sunny afternoon!

I'm wish the game explains how this happened (reapers have some stealth technology, disabled radar etc.). One of the things I like about the ME universe is that Bioware had made it a plausible setting so I'm hoping they explain this point as well.

uh........in the beginning of the demo, Anderson and Hackett are discussing just that, the Reapers on radar...

True, but given the huge distances involved I would have thought earth would have picked up the reapers at least a few days before they land.

Less explaining allows you to use your own imagination! My theory: dormant virus like in Battlestar Galactica.

Anderson thought so too. He says so in the demo.

To paraphrase, "WTF, How did they reach the moon already?" When he was just told a few moments earlier that the outer stations just went dark.

exactly and if you listen, its a minute at least after hearing of the outer stations going dark that the reapers are on the moons doorstep and then a few seconds later they're already on earth

Good point - I need to replay the demo to hear those parts again. Glad to hear that Anderson was just as surprised as I was to find the reapers suddenly in a blue summer sky!

It would be nice to see how the Alliance reacts to a warning a few days earlier but this shows you how under powered our defenses are against them.
