It's disgusting how some people can go so far to harass others.

"I don't like playing games."
"I think all cutscenes need to be completely skippable."
THEN gamers hate on her.
What they're doing is wrong, but she her position likely isn't a benefit for the games.

More like, BW writer says:
"I don't like playing games."
"I think all cutscenes need to be completely skippable."
THEN gamers hate on her.
What they're doing is wrong, but she isn't exactly "innocent," for lack of a better word.
Because she has a personal taste on how to play the way she wants, makes her 'guilty'? How does that make any sense at all?
You DO know many developer members don't play games themselves, right? They write the codes, send to QA, and just try and fix the bugs/glitches/add/delete, while never playing the game.

Writer doesn't necessarily equal gamer even if you work in the industry.
Writing gigs are flexible like that. You can work all kinds of places.

Did you even read the article?
Obviously not.

There's a big difference between a developer "member" not playing games, just doing the coding, and a GAME STORY WRITER not playing games.
That's like an author saying, "I don't like to read."

Its not "gamers"... its "trolls". Whilst some might do it because they sincerely feel that way, most likely do it because they enjoy getting a rise out of her... and of Bio.
I too enjoy dialogue more than fighting. If I could get an RPG where I wouldnt have to kill anyone or enter combat personally, Id love that. I love politics and manipulation rather than hamfisted violence anyway. I dont like getting my hands dirty.

Way to completely not read anything. She said she'd rather skip the combat sequences and get to the story.

That being said I agree with her about games being more tailorable to the experience you wish. I may be a very much RPG guy I don't mind the "dialogs as cinematics" option in ME3 and I wouldn't mind if they had put a "combat as cinematics" as she is basically proposing.

Precisely.. I recognized who was behind it right away. I hope Bioware does too. It looks like only a very small majority of actual fans are saying those things.Farbautisonn wrote...

Which is why the options of how to play Mass Effect 3 are pretty great. When I beat a game over and over, I kind of don't want to see all the cutscenes & dialogue, and want to jump right into the action.

I'm now a big fan of Aaron Flynn.
This. What a BAMF.
I agree with Hepler too. For God's sake a lot of people are ****ting their pants over the real-time decay of the online portion of ME3, bringing up the explicit fact that it demands a game be played a certain way in a certain time frame, and they're chewing this woman out for wanting time for her children.
