1st person aiming with pistols and assault rifles is absolutely unlike for me.
I'd like 1st person games, same as 3rd person. But in Mass Effect, 1st person aiming looks stupid (except sniper rifles, because it's obviously)
I think most peoples will agree with me.
Undoubtedly there will be also those who like 1st person aim...
...However I doubt it:unsure:

Scopes increase weapon accuracy? Ok, it's good.
Just add option which will switch between 1st and 3rd pesron aiming.

P.S.
Don't touch sniper rifles, it's obviously 1st person aiming,
it's OK:mellow:

I agree, I think. The scope is annoying in close quarters, but I'd really like to boost the Tempest's accuracy.

3rd person 'aiming' is bad. If you are close enought to a guy you don't need to aim anyway. The scope is useful when it comes to pop headshot or any impossible shot from distance though.

With sniper rifles it's no problem.
But in middle-range combat, scopes not enought FOV for tracking or fast target switch.
Besides, 3rd aiming more epic, i think:lol:

Mattock and Phalanx are epic with scope on them. You can shoot in 'no scope' without accuracy loss and hit any target from afar.

Yeah, I like the scope. So I don't know why you think everyone would agree with you. Personally, if I'm close enough to not use the scope, it means the enemy will be hit if I don't aim from the hip. There's a small circular reticle when you're not aiming that you can use as a guide to shoot enemies. It's actually pretty easy.

The scope with the pistol or mattock is fantastic at long range. I prefer the phalanx with damage bonus and extra ammo capacity though.

Efficiency with scope is good. I don't challenge it.
But 1st person scope aiming not esthetic.

Sniper rifles is necessary it.
Pistols and assault rifles not.

not too opposed to it but id wish you could see abit more of the weapon then just a scope. To give more peripheral view.
For me personally the scope was terrible as the zoom was far to much for the close quarter combat style that seems to dominate in this game, I just took it off as I am more combat effective without it.
It would be good if you had a scope selection, I would use a reflex or holo sight on most of my weapons...

Oh and yes... a scope increases a firearms accuracy ? lolz

It would make no sense to have scopes that don't put you into 1st person mode. Do you know how scopes work in real life? If you don't want to look through the scope don't use that attachment.

I use real firearms all the time.. besides from the flare end of a proper snipers scope a real humans FOV will pickup a peripheral view, that connot be modeled in a game.. however most other forms of scops such as acog and aimpoint sights designed for use on assault rifles where you position your eye up to 200mm from the sight end you get a huge peripheral view. If your holding your eye right up on the end of the sight... your using it wrong.

It is not about realistic.
This ME3 man, it's already totally unreal.
I hope to see 3rd person aiming without loss efficiency.
Otherwise i just don't use scopes

It's entirely your prerogative to choose which guns you use scopes with. What doesn't fit your own playstyle may well fit perfectly into someone else's.

Not a bad idea, just one you don't like. I love the scope on assault rifles and pistols though on SMG's it's a little silly. You don't have to use a scope either, there are 2 spots for mods and there are scopes, Mag clips, Extended barrels, stability thingy, ect..

I use a scope on my Mattock assualt rifle.  Its the only weapon I carry, and I am absolutley thrilled with it.

On my Taurian Sentinel I use the mattock with scope as my only weapon and its great.

On another class (forget which) I use a shotgun and a pistol with the scope for long range without sacrificing too much cooldown like a sniper rifle... I think it works out fine.

The scope is optional anyway...

Yeah, I really don't see the problem. If you don't like scopes, don't put the scope on the gun. I could see if it was a required attachment, but...

I think the laser mod will be a compromise between standard and scoped accuracy. At least for pistols anyway.

When modding a gun with a scope, it would have been a lot better to have an optional button to use it instead of being forced to when hard-aiming - this way I get the accuracy bonus and the Predator I use isn't so annoying to use at medium range.

I was so used to gunsights from other games I thought it was weird not to have them the first time I played Fallout 3. Gunsights worked well in Fallout:NV and might work well in ME if the FOV isn't diminshed, in fact it could help with visibility since Shepard takes up 1/3 of the screen.

I like it on the avenger, but not on pistols. you can generally take out a guardian with a scoped avenger by just aiming at the mail slot. For characters i want to get up close with i'll carry a secondary weapon.
