lol. i built my first pc this summer, i know what you mean. it's really tricky at first but once you understand how the different components work it's not to difficult, i say give it a go! i think installing the motherboard is probably the hardest anyways, if your getting a new gpu and cpu it's just a case of taking out the fan for the cpu putting in new one with thermal paste(of course duh) and switching out the old gpu for a new one.Hela wrote...

hey no worries it looks like you solved your issues anyways. have your considered though? a 5000 series card is pretty cheap these days and quad core cpu's are a must. i'd go for amd because they're cheaper and their x4 and x6 series cpu's are pretty good.
ThanksYeah, I´ve actually been meaning to upgrade, but the moving business has left my wallet sad. Good that I can apparently play me3 without bleeding eyes but as you said, a quad is a must nowdays (a quad...eheh) anyway so it´ll be a major overhaul. I just need to man up and start building my own rigs instead of bying prebuilt.

If you buy components from the right sources, building a PC yourself is actually less expensive than buying a new prebuilt PC with the same specifications. What is your processor's full description, anyways? It may be best for you to just buy a new graphics card.
One of the reasons for wanting to build the PC myself is the hope of getting more precise and balanced outcome; from what I´ve gathered so far the prebuilt ones tend to max out some parts at the expense of others?
Cpu is Intel Core2 Duo E7300@2,66Ghz , 3,18 GB RAM (Also, should it be relevant, I use a plug´n´play monitor, a Grundig TV/monitor of all things

Well that´s mighty kind of you dear sir, now, let´s see the fine print - what condition:police:? I don´t do anything involving children or animals (just...couldn´t resist...)
As for buying advice, that might be a tad bit complicated - I live in northern Europe, so all is depending on the transportation fees.
But I´d like some help with the figuring-things-out-thing, so much appreciated
I estimate I can start looking at spending only sometimes in autumn so that should give me plenty o´ time to do my homework.
