The weight system works fine for me, as a vanguard you can either carry as many weapons as you want, or you can have biotic charge recharge so quickly that you only need 1 gun, either way works.

Like the system. Adds another layer in character customisation, especially since by lvl 60 almost every skill will be maxed.

This system adds zero benefits to my gameplay while severly hindering the choices I can make about how I wish to play MY game.

Want to use the super awesome Widowmaker or Claymore? Have fun with nerfed power recharge times.

Want to play a Vanguard with a sniper rifle? HAHAHAHAHA, not happening with this system.

If you want a sniper Vanguard then hook yourself up with a Carnifax and a scope:)  The game gives you ways to solve these problems if you are creative.  Also mattock with a scope an damage boost is pretty nice.

On the other hand I would wait until you can get an asari Vanguard because stasis bubble + sniping == teh win

Royard that's not what the demo is showing especially in MP.

The weight limits on Shepard are higher than the limits on the MP chars.  This is per bioware.

Last time I checked, certain paths for the Passive Ability (not Fitness) decrease weapon weight. Perhaps you should focus on getting those upgrades?
Also, weapons become lighter as they reach new levels (i.e. Mattock I, II, III...).

I like the weight system, it forces the player to choose their loadouts carefully, If an enginner had a Widow and Claymore with no weight penelty the game would have been broken

Also

Shotgun Vanguard>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sniper Vanguard

They had to find balance somewhere, or else you would have tons of adepts walking around with Widows, Mattocks, and Claymores.

so they gimped the adept well guess what you use a pistol only and a adept is released from the weight prision . After messing with it in the MP there are ways to make a adept carry a AR .

I actually quite like the system and seeing adepts and engies carry a Mattock and Shotgun always cracks me up. If you are comfortable enough with power usage you can get away with just a tempest (which is still ridiculous) on all the power use classes. My main gripe is that one of the main class features of Soldiers was that they carried the full complement of guns. Do that now and you can forget about AR. It's fair enough that an Adept or Engineer shouldn't be able to but it doesn't really fit with Soldier. With Vanguard the penalty you pay for carrying a pistol on top of a shotgun is pretty hefty yet they kind of need it for a lack of ranged tools. While I can get away with just a Shotgun in MP out of reach enemies are going to be a problem in the campaign otherwise.

Personally I think there should also have been a proficiency system for guns other than side arms, if a class is proficient with a gun type it encumbers less before spending any points. That way soldiers could carry more guns, Infiltrators and Vanguard could more comfortably carry their signature weapon and a side arm.

And you think this system will stop that not happening . as one said a Shepard leveled up right will have no restrictions but hey restricitions are made to be screwed with thats why I only use a psitol on a vanguard and adept as a F U to the system , Oh and the soldier class if you not use the stupid CS and AR powers it won't even matter

No they aren't. A submachine gun is more effective against shields than a pistol is. Also the pistol has been gimped by no longer having the ability to fire off shots continuously while holding down the right trigger button on the console controller. In ME1 and ME2 you just held down the trigger and the pistol fired off round after round. Sure it wasn't a fast fire and it wasn't like the submachine gun or the assault rifle but it made for easier aiming and shooting. Now you have to continuously and rapidly press the right trigger button to fire the pistol. Again they did a lot of nerfing with this system and I don't like it.

Squeeze don't pull, it won't jostle your pad around to much. Or get the pc version, mice are so much more civilised.

But seriously, eat armor with warp on a super fast cooldown and carry the smg for shields. Think about how you want to play and how to acheive it. Or just play a modified ME2 save where your adept can equip a Rev, I'd rather enjoy the game as it is thanks.

I can't deny that the weight system has severely affected my play-style and strategy in ME3, and I'm not sure that it's for the better. On the other hand, at least Charge/Nova are fun.

I nearly always use the sniper or the assault rifle and only using the other weapons rarely. So this doesn't bother me as much. But they could at least give the soldier a weapons bonus since his main job is to fight with weapons.
The only thing I don't like is how much different weapons in  the same category can make such heavy differences in weight (Examples would be the pistols and submachine guns).

It doesn't restrict your play at all. Sure, you can use your heavy weapons, but there will be a debuff on your ability recharge.Personally I don't see this as an issue, since i play and overweight Adpet with an assault rifle and sniper. I still can use my abilities to a good effect, albeit I'll have to choose what to hit though. I think it makes the game more interesting upon already interesting elements this MP has.

Definitely enjoying the Engineer and Vanguard. More then the Adept, I enjoy the defense stripping a lot more.

I don't know what the Bug Man should be, his weapon settup requires Collector Arms and Armor.

So, is it possible to equip an Infiltrator with a shotgun?
Or are there those "untrained"-limitations?
Could someone explain me this?

No training limitations. Infact, there are no weapon limitations. You can put all of them on probably. Instead of restricting you, they heavily penalize your weight to Power Cooldown ratios.

Multiplayer restricts you to only any two weapons, but the normal cooldown penalties apply. Hence, why you see light armaments or single heavy weapons.

agreed, no weapon limitations grants you more freedom than ME2 and it makes more sense, they needed to balance that some how... especially for MP

Keep in mind that the weight reduction talents are bugged in the build that the demo uses. Bioware has acknowledged this and confirmed that it is fixed and working correctly in the release

Well, it basically limits you to use one or maximum two weapons. Everything else makes you not feel super powerful anymore. Especially disappointing is the soldier; he was supposed to be able to carry extra weapons without penalty. Seems now he has almost as much penalties as anybody else. So I think we will never see soldiers with all five weapons readily loaded. What a pity.

You do realize that Shepard can hold more weight and there will be in game mods and such that will benifit towards helping carrying more.

Now, when it comes to MP, that's a different story, but my Adept can hold a Sniper and a Assault Rifle, with a great cooldown as well.

MP limits you to 2 weapons.
SP is apparently bugged for the demo. It's fixed in the full game though.

That said I love the systems, since it's a proper RPG aspect.
You decide on which weapons you want to carry and bear the consequences of that decision (negative or positive cooldown modifier). Through progression (leveling and upgrading) you are able to carry more and more options open up to you.

Adept is not gimped at all when you can get your cooldowns to 1.5/2.5 seconds for singularity and warp.  Let alone the Asari Adept who is silly powerful if you arm her with a Mattock X and Stasis bubble.

I find this new system absoutely liberating after the horrible system that was ME2.  This brings back the ME1 fun without it being stupidly strong.  Even the Asari Adept gets in trouble easily on Silver or Gold without good teamwork.
