I'm sorry. I was the krogan that was launching Cerberus guys into orbit because they were hitting you in the back of your head while you were trying to get that super awesome 1337 headshot that you never seem to get.

Ha, ha. This is a krogan being polite. You're efforts are appreciated by this infiltrator, though.

I play my Infiltrator for close quarters support. I stick with squaddies as I try to flank bad guys and rez when needed. That said, since I am usually in the thick of things, I can and do get clobbered on occasion. So I welcome all support offered.

I...shoot things with my gun. I don't really know how else to describe my style as an infiltrator. Sometimes I flank, often I rez, but sometimes I don't. Depends on the situation.

Also if people could not die in the middle of three phantoms I'd be much appreciative. Cloak doesn't get me through that any better.

I think better advice would be along the lines of:

-- Don't put a Singularity on a defended target that you see me lining up a sniper shot with. Yes I did this on some Guardians so they wouldn't advance but it made it annoying for our snipers to get a kill shot on.

-- Don't try to be an Infiltrator if you're not

-- Get a MIC ... use it properly

-- Don't "abandon" your team role to help me if you see me flanking the enemy [If it's your "job" to look for Phantoms / Flankers / etc. yourself don't abandon this to "help" an Infiltrator that's got it covered]

The only thing that gets me is when Infiltrators don't do their job of scouting / getting to the 1-of-4 upload devices / rez / etc. and I'm the one that has to man up and do it ...

So when you see one of us off in the distance, flanking a crowd, do us a favor and stay away. It does us no good to have you showing up and giving away my location because you are a krogan tank and you feel the need to go green and hulk smash.

P.S. Bioware, please fix the following glitch. When someone is standing behind me and im zoomed in, i can only see them. Kind of funny to see the people behind me.

Hmm...been pwning as an Infiltrator lately and to be honest, I don't really see the problem if someone DOES follow me if I'm going off alone.  Also, the maps are so small that it's not like you can actually go 'Lone Wolf' in any meaningful way.

Also, a couple of things, at least that I have noticed about the Infiltrator I'm playing,

1) Besides being the best dedicated Sniper, you're an asset to your team just as much for being the best Medic.

2) Infiltrator is a very light target.  Sniping with buddies around is not a bad thing for when that unexpected death happens and you don't need to waste a Med pack because no one else is around to revive you.

3) On most games, most player's seem to understand the value of a well-played Infiltrator, Infiltrators, on the other hand, don't usually seem to understand the value of Sniping-as-Support, which can not only make for a lot of kills, but also take in a lot of points.

4) Tactical Cloak Invisibility =/= Invicibility.

5) Since you can out range and outdamage any of your allies, having a bud along for close support is always a good thing.

6) YOU should be the one following that Sentinel/Soldier running off on his own to give supporting fire.

I would say most Human Soldiers that go off by themselves shouldn't be doing that unless they're just mopping up some "goons". They're usually better off with the team.

It's not always possible to get to the objective or player. On noveria I was moving back up after a wave and ended up, joyfully, having enemies spawn on both sides of me. I managed to get out of there eventually but even with cloak it took a bit. Two of the objectives had already been secured by the time I wiggled free of the death trap.

Sometimes infiltrators are actually better as a cover fire/distraction target. Depends on the situation.

We vanguards (and the infiltrators we are always competing for kills with) thank you for setting up the biotic combos.  The reward for seeing those enemies go sky-high or get dead with a bang is so worth giving you the primary kill just to see it

If you don't want people following you around, use the headset. Tell them what you are doing and they will work with you.

Dear OP,
With all due respect, over 300 revives, around 125 of those have been in rescuing infiltrators from the clutches of a hostile Cerberus boot. Around 80 of these have been from them moving to a position of flanking and being KIA'd. I have rescued so many people like you and you have NO idea how hard it is to pop one of their heads off with a carnifex in 0.1 seconds before their boot hits the floor, then charge through the rest of the group, revenant barrel smoking like a group of hoodlum teens, to reach you before you bleed out.

While I respect your intelligence to flank, DO NOT do it alone, inform your team and then give us a chance to bull rush them the moment they catch on to your tactics and before a segment detaches to shut you up. 80 revives for being a hero says that I'm a good enough shot under pressure to save a friend, but I've lost a good few teammates because of this, and you need to realise that as your teammate, it is my duty to protect you from getting your head crushed by a boot, and if I have to charge in every time to save people like you, then you can at least respect the idea of teamwork. I'm good under pressure, but I don't like being under pressure.

Yours sincerely,
The only guy on your team who seems to care about your life.

It's not like only infiltrators can flank. Its a useful tactic to split into teams of two when flanking; no matter who the enemy is engaging, one of the teams is always going to be able to fire on them with impunity. My engineer often flanks on the non-snow map, in that little house overlooking the street area near the landing pad. The enemy will be engaging my teammates at the LZ and I'll be shooting overload at them from above, which are hitting them because they're focused on the others and not taking effective cover from me. Works pretty damn well.

I'm the adept that popped a singularity on those assault troopers rushing in behind you.

I'm the soldier that took a rocket to the face so you wouldn't take it in your ***.

I'm the engineer that overloaded that centurion's shields so you could kill it with a body shot instead of a headshot.

I'm the sentinel that popped his tech armor so you could find safety.

I'm the vanguard that cleaned up your flank while you were lining up that perfect headshot.

I'll admit that infiltrator is a crazy fun class to play when done right, but the reality is that as other classes I've averted dozens of flanking attacks on infiltrators who were too focused on what was in their scope to notice what was to their side. And having tried to play a mission alone as an infiltrator, I can say even on Bronze you notice the lack of teammates.

Just did silver with an asari adept. We had to duo it since the other 2 members of the team rage quit on the first 2 waves because we didn't go and rescue them because they were being stupid and going off by themselves to kill mobs. Sorry but I like having somebody covering my ass especially on the later waves when they are multiple phantoms. A few times my mate saved me by placing a stasis bubble on the phantom that was right behind me. If it was for that I would have died a few times while I was taking care of the atlas and guardians that were coming down the ramp (hack objective at LZ, ihu so much)

Yeah... definitely doesn't speak for me either. Under no circumstance is having a teammate near you a bad thing. It doesn't reveal your location when cloaked, and actually helps to take attention away from you otherwise. I think someone is a little miffed another player found their secret stash of enemies somewhere and had to share kills.

Agree, some people actually listened to me when I told them I'll take care of the Atluses. Turned out there was 2, 2 Phantoms, and a couple of troopers/Centurions. Nothing a couple stickies, cloak, and of course my trusty Claymore couldn't handle.

Most infiltrators I played with sucked. They didn't do anything but hide in a corner somewhere for most of the game, and wouldn't lift a finger to help anyone in the group.

I'd like to expand the message of the OP to Vanguards as well: If you see us rampaging through the enemies in the distance, leave us alone and don't take away the targets we need to recharge our barriers.
It's like Charge, Nova, Ch...where's my friggin' target, I'm at zero protection here ffs!?!

As a vanguard, I strongly disagree with this.

+1.  It shouldn't come to that for the Vanguard--you have to be smart as well as brave.

I played Infiltrator for most of my time in the Demo on 360. I actually like to stay with the group more than go on my own. Every time I go on my own I get destroyed by a Phantom. Safety in numbers. Plus I can relax and get better headshots if I know someone is watching my back. People also tend to watch my back more when I go out of my way to cloak passed the entire wave of Cerberus dudes just to revive them when they get overwhelmed. There's a reason real snipers have a spotter with them.

@OP: If anything, the appearance of a team-mate, especially a Krogan soldier, has the opposite effect; it draws attention away from you. I've experienced this, primarily playing a Krogan soldier myself. I act like the team's damage sponge, I take the hits they can't and clobber anything that dares get close to us, and this is made much harder by the people who go renegade. While I understand the idea of flanking, try to make sure you tell someone, and having a team-mate follow you is not a downside, it can only serve to compliment you.

Oh good lord, I'm sorry that my efforts to kill dozens of enemies and watch your back in a fire fight is messing up your sweet headshots. Perhaps I'll just sit in the corner while you kill everyone so not to get in your way.

I'm starting to hate playing with infiltrators. It's about team work, not about how many kills you can get in one round.
