As understandable, and even justifiable as that is, its only likely to throw more fuel on the fire. Chances are alot of these jerks are enjoying being trolls as they are actually serious. Now that they see they've hit a nerve they'll keep hitting it.Major League wrote...

But it's highly unprofessional, no matter how much one hates somebody else over the internet there's a sense of professionalism that must be maintained. Any company who'd constantly go around swearing at people wouldn't last long as the winds of controversey would slam them, the employees in question would lose ther job and it does nothing but throw gasoline onto the flames.
All Aaron needs for him to get into trouble is a few people to write emails about how offended they are as a consumer to EA's public relations team.

Ms Hepler, I wish you all the best, your writing in DA Origins was very enjoyable and I for one loved what you did with Anders character in DA2. Like every creative person, you can't please everyone, but there as those of us who appreciate your creativity and hope you continue with it.

I'd be thinking it, don't know if I would be saying it. He didn't use the right methods but do give him credit for standing up for his employee.

I'm sorry but this is why no one can take gamers seriously with trash like that.
Cancer of Bioware? Yes, I dislike Hepler and her writing but that is just going too far.

Try and help in a way that doesn't encourage the jerk to continue, if not become even more obnoxious. Unfortunatly, I'm worried that firing back insults is only going to keep this going. And that doesn't actually help.Major League wrote...

Don't get me wrong, Aaron scores well intended good person points, but how much is he actually helping?

I'm not like that. Maybe it is the big brother trait in me, but i would rather lose my job, then let a friend/ co worker get harassed. the internet is full of low lifes these days. not saying the people that are criticizing her, but the people who are constantly sending hate mail or encouraging it.

Yeah, I remember how there was some uproar here when she said that. I don't think anyone in that thread went as far as those douchebags did. There was this one troll though who kept coming back so maybe. In any case, I do feel bad for her. What happened should never be permissible. For one thing, it's human decency and to cap it all off, it's a freaking video game.

Conversely, resorting to profanity and responding to trollish behavior with more trollish 4th grade insults is just as bad.
What gets me is why this stuff turned up now? Its been going on with /v/ since before DA2 came out. Surely this wasn't a surprise to anyone at BioWare?

I disgaree strongly.
She does like to game, just suggested there was a way to "skip the combat" something I very heavily wish I could do myself. Imagine if I could skip the "tacits" of the fight in SWTOR and jump right to the cut secnes, or do the same in DA2. She's right in aspect, story telling games are story telling. Not mindless smashing buttons in combat.
I praise her for her understanding of that. However I don't agree with the way she handled it. My family owns a corporation, they get ALOT of hate mail. If they responded to that in public, it would just make the people act worse. The best response is sometimes, no response.

And seriously you're all a bunch of ****s and hypocrites. You send hate mail and threats because she has a different opinion then you? I feel for Chris Priestly having to put up with all you everyday.
That was actually on Reddit, at least that's where it started. But you are right it was pretty digusting. She obviously has writting talent otherwise Bioware wouldn't have bothered to hire her. It's unfortunately she has to deal with so much nonsense over heavily out of context interview statements and in a few cases, entirely false claims. I wish Jennifer the best and hope she continues to contribute to the games that Bioware puts out.

It might not be professional, but I do not feel bad about it. It's deserved. Fuel on the fire? There is already a mob mentality that has been aimed at Hepler for MONTHS, it's about time she got support. 'Cuz it hasn't gone away. Sometimes, when against severe harrassment and bulling, a big eff you is valid.
And it helps nobody, serving only to make them laugh at how they're getting to you.
