So how about you go give that little Women can't lead speech to your superior officer. I'm sure she'd have QUITE the laugh.

I'm going to continue to be perfectly serious and say no. PMS is hardly universal, and the severity and symptoms are hardly uniform (or as exaggerated as people love to pretend it is). Average sufferer of PMS doesn't tear people's heads off, just experiences cramps and bloating.

Describing anything beyond that is TMI.

Meer has improved but still sound too monotone and uninvolved for my tastes. Could be the voice direction though.

I've always liked Mark Meer's Shepard and he's improved in every game. He sounds awesome in the ME3 demo.

Then no harm done, but it should be an indication to you in the future that women don't find it funny when you pull jokes like that. We get enough of that demeaning crap from people who do mean it.

Anyway, yeah, back on topic. Like I said, I respect Meer as a VA and think he has tons of talent, but his direction in ME1/2 just leaves me yearning for Hale whenever I try to start up a MaleShep playtrhough. I do hope with the more emotionally-vulnerable Shepard we see in ME3 that we'll finally get some emotion out of his lines.

How about agreeing on that both male and female can be diffrent since they are persons just like anyone else in their gender... Duh...

I too used to think Male Shep's voice was awesome enough, but after playing femshep a couple times in a row, I much more prefer Hale's more colorfully delivered lines now.

I prefer Fem Shep's voice any day. this isn't necessarily because Meer is a bad voice actor but because I hate his voice. Meer could be the best voice actor in the whole freaking world and I would still prefer Hale simply because I don't like the sound of Meer's voice.

I agree. Meer is great. He is the voice of Commander Shepard, to me. I also never had a problem with his voice acting in ME1, but he's definitely improving as the series progresses.

I'm surprised this thread exists - I thought it was the fashionable thing to hate Mark Meer's voice over for Shepard.

To be honest, I've always like the guy's voice over. He comes sounding like someone who could honestly be a professional soldier and does a good job with the Paragon choices, with a dash of Renegade when needed. I'm glad Bioware retained his services for all three games, as I'd have major problems taking it seriously without Meer's voiceover.

I've always loved Meer as Shepard, but he seems to get even better as the serier progresses. His voice is also pretty unique, so you instantly associate it with Shepard. He nails the Soldier vibe that I like to think is realistic.
