Promoting characters (full game)...

What I'm wondering is whether or not this will then reset your characters stats back to level 1 so you can create another level 20 character and promote them, or if you stay at level 20. I think the game mode could get quite boring once you have all your characters at level 20.

I like this idea, but I doubt it. That would require the devs to hire voice actors to speak actual lines in cutscenes, conversations and such. I doubt they would do that, but it would be nice for me to see one of my level 20's fight in a major battle, not in my squad, but nearby if you know what I mean. Like from the Take Back Earth trailer where all the soldiers are fighting alongside Shepard.DRUNK_CANADIAN wrote...
Wait do they join you on the Normandy/become squadmates, or is that too epic for our human minds to conceive...it takes a Salarian of my caliber to program that.

Where'd you get this information?

That gives you a little information on it, but anyone with a level 20 character can back me up on this.
I'm not saying it will become instantly boring as soon as you hit level 20 but I think it makes a lot more sense to reset to level 1 after a promotion, giving you the chance to create a character with different abilities. This gives you the opportunity to continue playing the game in different ways.
I was levelling up my Asari Adept and maxed out most of my powers, but I didn't notice that level 20 was the level cap. Because of this, I had wasted 4 points into Shockwave, meaning I could only put 5 into Stasis. If this was the real game, I'd now NEVER get to try Stasis+6. If promoting resets your character, I could then create a brand new Asari Adept and allocate her points more efficiently.

Well even though this is also greyed out in the demo, i think what you're looking for is the little "Reset powers" button on the powers screen, you know where you go to level up, right beside confirm

My point is i just dont see all that lasting appeal if I can max out all my characters in a week, and have almost beaten gold my second try. (round 9)
Doesn't that Reset button only work when you have enough points to level up an ability? Like if I choose to upgrade Warp, I can click it and only have the option of resetting until I back out of the ability upgrade screen. I hope I'm wrong as resetting should at least be an option if anything.

Even searched for word 'Promote' and all of its tenses and it isn't there. Are you sure you read this?

Apparently we CAN promote our characters into the Main Campaign. WOOT~!
Though again...no confirmation of how/if this is actually in. IF this is true, this game just got another big point in the Awesome category! Come the hell on March 6!
