So, wait. If we do main missions, some side quests supposedly become unavailable? So, we basically do all the side quests first THEN the main missions? Or do the side quests that would "disappear" if you did a main mission?

Some missions will become inaccessible as you progress. It seems pretty clear to me. Save often, but I assume the forks will be pretty clear. If you let a planet get conqured by the Reapers, it's likely any missions you might have on that planet will be lost.

Dang, this game is a lot more complex than I expected. I assume there are ways to stop the Reapers from conquering a planet or a "time-line" of when to do side missions and main missions.

Yeah, they apparently spent a lot of time debating how to handle that. They've already teased it, by revealing her "father's" identity in LotSB.

It's not THAT detailed. Most of it is stuff one could have just assumed was in the game. Which particular item "ruins" the game?

I just feel all the mystery and excitement of the various reveals has been diminished greatly. When I saw the parameter regarding Balak I thought it was awesome but am now kicking myself for ruining the cool reveal.

I guess so. Since I took the plunge anyway. Can you just state the parameters required in order to arrange a mutually beneficial outcome for the Geth & Quarians (the 'third choice' you refer to)? With as minimal spoilers as possible (if possible).

Do you have to rewrite the heretics in ME2? Not rewrite them? Help Legion and Tali resolve their dispute in ME2?

Does the third choice require going all the way back to decisions in ME1?

Aren't there some mutually exclusive missions too? School of hard choices etc.

I'm glad either way.

If that means what I think it does, I wish I let my paragon Shepard do a little genocide in the first game. <_<
But then again speaking with the Asari on Illium I recall the message from the Queen saying something along the lines of  "joining their voices with Shepards when the darkness comes".
So, maybe 2 Queens? 2 strands of Rachni, one ally and one hostile maybe? :blink:
That or there's a point in ME3 where we can lead the Queen to betray Shepard through our choices. I dunno.
