...on running around like chooks with there heads cut off during wave 11. If your looking to rack up more points you can do that just as easily by taking cover in the extraction zone and waiting for the enemy to come to you. Drives me absolutely mad when in a group of four im the only one in the extraction zone then my teammate's go and die so I either run and help them or try and hold off everyone by myself.

Because waiting at the LZ for the entire 2 minutes is usually suicidal. I rather take out some of those Peskey atlas with my team mates rather then wait for all of them to swarm my team. On silver there's about 5 or 6 of them

See I don't play above bronze, i'm just not good enough. In bronze theres only one atlas so with a little concentrated fire it go's down fairly quick. But that's dependant on how many people are actually waiting at the LZ in cover.

Completely agree, although I'm also playing on bronze due to my rather poor skills at the game. But yeah, when it's LZ time, I'm behind cover and waiting for the rendezvous.

Even on Bronze, staying in the LZ the entire time can get you stuffed.

Staying together and falling back to the LZ nearer to the actual dust-off time is what we usually do.

Eh either tactic can work but you need to pick one and stick with it as a team. Firebase White generally has better cover so the LZ can be held. Firebase Bronze I'd rather hold in one of the buildings then make a run for it.

Yea, White is a decent spot to hold, but that hole the LZ is in on the other map is a death trap.

Chilling at the LZ is suicidal on gold. You'll get 5-6 atlas mechs with a horde of guardians/phantoms/centurions standing on your corpses before the shuttle pops.

on my successful runs on silver...and less worrisome runs of bronze...the best strategy i have seen is splitting up the team..2x2. 2 in the LZ and 2 near the LZ. It splits up the badguys attention AND allows everyone to fire at EVERYthing coming at them. with bout 10sec left everyone books it to the LZ.

I've found that even with two people (that know what they're doing), you can survive at the LZ on Firebase White, even though it's the slowest and most terrifying two minutes of gaming I've ever played through. As long as everyone stays at the LZ and concentrates their fire, chances are you'll survive (though I'm yet to test this on the other map since my friend and I can never make it past wave nine).

As for those who just run about willy-nilly and cost you the bonus experience... Well, there's nothing that can really be done about them. We just have to get used to the loss of experience and be glad they don't cost us any credits.

For firebase white me and my friends usually have two people at the top of the stairs and two in the corridor. Since mobs don't spawn at the LZ your safe from that side meaning you only have to worry about the mobs that spawn on the far left side. If people haven't used their rockets you can blasé the first few atlas or if for me just use a widow and take down 1 or 2 of them while the group at the bottom slowly moves to meet the group at the top of the stairs, after that you just move to the LZ and most of the atlas should be dead. For the other map I usually hole up in the building to the right of the LZ.

Playing Silver with my maxed out Infiltrator, and when there's a decent Asari Adept, I can pretty much keep the team alive provided everyone is pulling their weight in dealing out damage.

I've also seen other decent Infiltrators do the same.

Staying alive INSIDE the Extraction point is just a matter of teamwork.

Pretty much thora, on my infiltrator I can usually take out most of the atlas on silver by myself during the retreat. I just need to have some support of having somebody watch my back while I take them out. And on firebase bronze there's no way in hell I'm staying in that hole, cover is horrible and visibility is even worse. I prefer to see my targets before they are at my doorstep

Firebase Bronze we've easily extracted on Silver holding at the LZ too. I just stasis-spammed anything that moved, my teammates shot, shot, shot. Saved a few rockets, two Atlases in one shot is always sweet.

Its not impossible. But its not a great strategy either because grenades can wreck you.

Like I said, teamwork.  If the Team managed to let multiple Atlas enemies at the Extraction point then frankly everyone was waiting for everyone else to take them out.

I just finished Firebase White on Silver, two Infiltrators, one Sentinel, and one Engineer.  We took down all the Atlas units before the reached the LZ.  Focus Fire.

A good infiltrator and take out all the atlas by himself given he has a widow and 2 rockets. You don't need any key else. Tbh on silver during the retreat as an infiltrator your primary target should be the atlas then guardians if they are greeting close. Rest of the team should be able to take out the cents and regulars no prob

Because getting surrounded at the LZ, which usually has little cover, is death. If everyone gets downed and Cerberus troops close in, there is no recovering. I usually get into the building on Firebase Ghost that overlooks the LZ since that's a significant approach where Cerberus troops hunker down and harass us from. As a Vanguard, I usually clean house and keep it clear which makes life so much easier on the rest of my squad.

Yeah Atlases are my bread-and-butter when playing Engineer. Overload, fire, overload, fire, incinerate, fire, incinerate. Dead Atlas.

Turian sentinels have it easy too. Overload and warp fully upgraded melt those atlas.

Should try it with the Salarian infiltrator. Takes down an atlas just as fast and en drain means you don't really have to dive for cover

One of my favorite class so far. Usually takes me 3 - 4 shots to take down an atlas. Also the games rng isn't that bad. I played aion before this and during the early days the rng rates where horrendous.

I run around because I know where to be and vice versa. Then 20 seconds til extraction, I run back. I do it on any difficulty, it's actually a better idea. It disperses the enemies rather than having them come to the extraction point all at once.

This is why you always save your missile for extraction or assasination missions.
