Now everyone knows infiltrator use sniper rifles but some people finally realizing the potentancy  of the CQ C infiltrator.  Now I was wondering if anyone has spec'd for extra melee damage?  Fullying damage on the cloak plus an extra 50% with melee and there is also the synergy from the fitness tree.

So people which have you used?  Which do you think is better if built properly?

I just skipped fitness completely on mine. Only use melee for stagger. Even removed the blade from my shotgun.

Salarians are too squishy for CQC, I leave mine at long range where he belongs..except every once in a while when a Phantom acts up and I have to give her an electrified omniblade pimp slap.

Actually I'd say they are better than humans at CQC due to the stagger of energy drain. Perfect for setting but head shots or heavy melees.

Cloak and energy drain makes you pretty much unkillable if you play it right. Salarians are great for CQC.

Yeah, i've used a melee infiltrator since I first started.
It's capable of one-shotting any enemy besides atlases. This makes it pretty useful when dealing with phantoms/turrets/guardians/enemies in general, as you avoid much of the risk in getting damaged.

Basically if you have your cooldown fast enough (mine is 3.39 secs), you can safely assassinate an enemy, shotgun his friends, then cloak again before they start to attack you.

If there close enough you can catch both in the energy drain and it makes sneaking away easier.

I only played CQC salarian on silver, and he is great. Atacking from cloak with heavy melee pretty much kills everything with one hit, including shielded enemies. I also meleed one or two atlases into nonexistence. It also most of the time kills an assaul trooper with one regular blow, without even need to use heavy atack. Not always, though. I think it depends on whether or not you killed somebody with HM in nearest past, because Fitness gives you bonus damage for some time after that.
All in all, its a great great fun :)
On Gold I stick to my Widow though. My build was intentionally made to support melee, shotgun AND sniper rifle, because I didn't know what playstyle would appeal to me most. This diversity is really cool, it gives you abbility to change your gameplay expirience so you never get bored with a class.

CQC salarian infiltrator since day 1 here, more like a close quarter omni-blade assassin ;) cloak, energy drain, heavy melee = kill everything (after the 75% boost, which is only needed for phantoms, almost forgot that recently) except atlas of course. energy drain is good because it can lock your target like nemesis or else they'll walk around like a naughty girl, also for troopers so that they can't melee back. Need to be careful about phantoms tho, there's a chance that they can detect you and may result in insta-death, best strategy is to wait till they take cover or follow behind them so they can't attack back, in most cases, especially don't try it (heavy melee) on phantoms when you're the sole survivor...
an image of my recent collection of shiny medals :) (5 grabs, 15 melee etc.)

Salarian infiltrator is generally a class where you could have a blind monkey pick your skills and you would still be fine (considering you start with a point in cloak, and will therefore have it at least at rank 3)
