I've found two videos that surfaced on Youtube recently that were leaked from the ME3 demo. These clips are apparently the Prothean sqaud mates voice. I think the voice doesn't suit him at all. They could have went for a more unique, maybe ancient sounding voice. Just my opinion though.

Please don't complain about spoilers. You're in the spoiler section..

Anyway here they are,

Tell me this is a joke. He sounds like a rasta guy from Jamaica. Next thing we know, he will be running with a jamb in his mouth through the game.

It's not a jamaican accent.

The voice is ok...nothing particularly wrong with it....it's just the way the clips were pieced together in no order or context that makes it all so very, very annoying.

I dunno, I think it's awesome.
There's nothing whatsoever to say that an ancient species won't sound like that. Also, nobody's been rocking that accent in ME at all.

It has nothing at all to do with the origin behind the accent. Why would you jump to such an extreme?

The voice in no way suits the Protheans look. That's not being racist, it's being honest. If that offends you in some way stop taking yourself so seriously.

Also never said it was a personal insult, but again you seem to like to jump to conclusions with no real solid ground to support them.

It's an insult to anyone who plays Mass Effect an enjoys it. The voice to me, at least, feels thrown in there. No real effort was taken, again, to me, to match his face and voice.

Lack of caring = insult to people who care about the game. Again, so you don't take it to the extreme, all in my opinion.

Wait, since Shepard was the only person who could understand the Prothean VI in ME1, then will it be the same in ME3?

I would assume it's using an auto translator like every other race in the game.

Oh, do you mean Vigil? Or the other VI that Shep and crew found on Ilos before Vigil.

What?
The voice is the best part of the prothean squad mate.

He also gets some funny lines.

Yes, Vigil. The auto-translator didn't translate Vigil's speech to other party members, presumably because the Prothean language is so unknown that the auto-translator tech is inadequate, and Shepard only understood it because he gained Prothean knowledge through his experiences with the beacons

Or wait, am I thinking of other VI entirely?

Actually, Vigil did translate it's language into one Shep and party could understand. If you remember, Vigil says it was monitoring their communications since the time they entered the facility and changed it's language out put to one they would understand.

Vigil is dead now anyway. In ME2 when Shep mentions checking Vigil for confirmation of the Protheans extinction through the Reapers, the Council says the hologram was not active.

I remember too much off the top of my head  ...

It is possible you're thinking of the broken down VI that was muttering static.

can...not.. -- stopped.

etc.

However it had no real relavence to the story, other than just being something Shep could understand. It was merely a beacon that could verbally warn whomever could understand it. I don't see it making a return.
