And as a Nigerian, I'm inclined to agree with you - in some places. Other places he just sounds off-the-walls wrong. His pronunciation also isn't always consistent. Don't know what to make of it except "invented accent."

The voice could have been done by a person of nigerian descent  living in places like the Uk, which may be why it sounds of the wall.

i have more of his voice and imo it sounds alot better

I never asked you to find it funny. Its you who's making such an incredible deal about a silly game reference from my part and about an accent that's supposed to be goddamn alien for christ's sake. Instead of just enjoying the characters voice for what it is, you go around the topic belitteling everyone who hears a resemblance between two dialects. Face it; for someone who has no to little knowledge of African-English accents there's a chance they will mix these accents up. I just find your moral and rather childish tone funny and rediculous. If I got a cent for the number of times Hollywood mixed up German and my native language Dutch or the english accents of those languages I would be a billionaire by now, however whining about it to anyone who simply does not know (much about) those languages seems even more stupid than mixing them up. Bro

...That was extremely tl;dr, but to clarify, I don't care if people have difficulty telling apart the accents. It's the caricature that is annoying.

When I first heard the very first sampling I couldn't tell. Well, I still can't tell. I don't know anything abt. African accents. But listening to it more from that last sample, I can tell it's not Jamaican.

Deal with it. Every culture and country has them. People should be smart enough to know the difference between stereotypes and reality. Or do you think I think everyone outside the Netherlands is under the impression everyone here smokes weed 24/7, wears wooden shoos and visits prostitutes?

It isn't long in general. It's too long in that it really doesn't merit my time that you got butthurt over my calling your joke unfunny. You needn't get defensive and justify it with "but everyone has stereotypes!" because I honestly don't care. It isn't very clever no matter how you look at it, especially when people have been using the exact same type of rhetoric to seriously demean the voice because (they think) it's Jamaican.

What I find interesting is whether the autotranslator simply gives aliens an accent for variety or if it interprets the alien language and deciphers it to closest resembling human known accents. I do hope we'll hear something about the autotranslator. Would be pretty lame if your squadmates all of a sudden understand prothean language as well.

And yeah, from what I understand, all your squadmates do understand Prothy. I think Liara may have come into play on that count. I think.

Seems like a logic explanation. I don't really mind convoluted explanations in ME3 concerning the understanding of the prothean language by your squadmates, I just hope there will at least be a simple explanation. Just a simple sign of the writers that they didn't oversee the lore this time around.

id say a protoss like voice would have been 10x better, it should have been more alien and more powerful sounding, and the accent makes it seem to modern and human. and please dont compare this to the quarians, there are plenty of those with different accents, but we only get one prothean so he should have sounded the least human as possible.
