Seriously? lol? i genuinely don't think i could take the geth seriously if he was in my squadSaints_ wrote...
I've found two videos that surfaced on Youtube recently that were leaked from the ME3 demo. These clips are apparently the Prothean sqaud mates voice. I think the voice doesn't suit him at all. They could have went for a more unique, maybe ancient sounding voice. Just my opinion though.
Please don't complain about spoilers. You're in the spoiler section..
Anyway here they are,
I sincerely hope this isn't real

I don't understand how people are saying an African accent doesn't match the Prothean. I would be much more off-put if he spoke with an English, New Englander, Midwest or Australian accent. NOW THAT would be weird.
He sounds too human. That's weird because he's not a human.

Half the aliens in the games sound too human, if that's a thing.

Whats your point? The turians and salarians are not human, and they sound really human so?
They don't sound weird because we got used to their voices. The prothean voice sounded weird to me at first as well, because it has a very distinctive accent, but I think we will get used to it. Think about the quarians, like Shala'Raan, they have a lot of human caracterisc accents, from british to middle eastern.

You mean how Tali sounds like she's middle eastern... or some say East Europe -I don't hear it-
Garrus sounds like some New york/Chicago Wise guy
Wrex just has a really deep voice
and Liari sounds like a dork in ME1
Hell Legion and Mordin are the only two who sound really alien... and that because mordin talks a mile a minute and Legion's a robot!

PS: Liara was a dork in ME1. She was supposed to be. Still she was a cute dork.

I for one think this is an insult. I'll adapt, not like I'm cancelling preorder..lol..
but still.
>You take it as a personal insult against you
Stay classy.
It has nothing at all to do with the origin behind the accent. Why would you jump to such an extreme?
The voice in no way suits the Protheans look. That's not being racist, it's being honest. If that offends you in some way stop taking yourself so seriously.
Also never said it was a personal insult, but again you seem to like to jump to conclusions with no real solid ground to support them.
It's an insult to anyone who plays Mass Effect an enjoys it. The voice to me, at least, feels thrown in there. No real effort was taken, again, to me, to match his face and voice.
Lack of caring = insult to people who care about the game. Again, so you don't take it to the extreme, all in my opinion.
Rick Astley....enough said. Voice sometimes doesn't go with the look of a person.

It's like Bioware hasn't learnt anything from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Now ME3 has it's very own Jar Jar Binks. As someone who was born and grew up in the Caribbean I find this to be highly racist and offensive.
Racism is the inherent belief that one race is superior to another.
Making a character have a (Nigerian?) accent is not racist.
Please people, stop shouting "racism" for everything.
...I hope the Prothean dances like Carlton Banks.

it makes sense to make his accent african. The cradle of life anyone? Ever heard about how Milena ago sub Saharan Africa was a fertile paradise and now it's..well, sub Saharan africa.
I'd like to point out that I have nothing against the choice of the accent, and I neither like nor dislike the, uh, THE VOICE.
Having said that, this theory you brought up has been brought before, and frankly it makes no sense. The Cro-Magnon the Protheans were studying lived 35 000 years ago. It's not as if their language, or worse, accent (?!) translated to ****** Sapiens...
Furthermore, you're implying that the Protheans - who lived all across the galaxy - all talked with a similar accent to those that were studying Earth. Which is, well, beyond unlikely
I don't know why there must be such a fuss over the voice. Okay, some people's expectations weren't met, it happens. There's no need to find any hidden meanings or throw accusations like "Goddamit Bio, my subjective expectations weren't met - it means you don't care about the fans!"
