Prothean Romance

The voice sounds... I dunno - out of place, but whatever. I won't be using Prothy anyway..

I was very against the Prothean squad mate or indeed any living Prothean - but after reading the leaked script about WHY the Prothean is there and what its all about - he's going to be a staple in my play throughs. The story regarding why he is there and how he came to be there is pretty awesome and when I read it I facepalmed and thought myself an idiot for not seeing the reason for him being there.

Also - I like his voice more and more.

And you say that that's the same voice he used for Eko (I've never seen LOST)? That's not a very good Ethiopian accent, if so, haha. Makes sense that he sounds "Nigerian but off" (considering his background) if he's trying to sound like an Easterner.

I don't know if it was intentional but the African accent makes perfect sense. We know Protheans may have "guided" the evolution of some intelligent species, and from a ME1 sidequest we know they definitely poked around in the heads of early humans. Since we know that humanity as we know it really got its start in Africa, and language being one of the hallmarks of our evolution, it makes perfect sense. So it's not that the Prothean has an Africanese accent, but that humans from that region have a Prothean accent.

No probably not.  There are others, some people on here are probaly just playing devils advocate one way or the other, and others who odn't care, simply aren't voicing it.

Sorry but that accent is badass...wonder how one of my less open minded friends will react mind. The way he says Prothean... Welcome to the squad Prothy can't say I'm happy you are a squad member (unless the writing justifies it), but welcome anyway.

I chuckled at the fact that people seem completely unable to identify the Prothean accent, but Quarians sound Indian? Wow. How far off can you be? Is that because ONE VA is Iranian? Most of the voices are wholely American. There's an Englishman and an Australian woman. Tali sounds Romanian to me. Not a one of them has anything even approaching an Indian accent.

Look back a page or two, I have a post where I list all their accents, cause they have about 5.  Tali has an Indian/British accent.
