After playing Krogan soldier for the first time I gotta say; headbutting Phantoms to death, revenge has never been so sweet.

I like this Turian. He understands.

Today was the first time I've played with krogan, rather than as. Turning round and seeing them pelting towards you is genuinely threatening, even knowing whose side they're on.

Played a couple games with my lvl 4 (got some soldier unlocks) Krogan. Pretty fun. The Krogan's heavy melee is definitely useful since he charges into the enemy when it happens. My other characters you have to have them right on top of them when you trigger it or it doesn't work. Got a few levels. May try a bit more later.

Edit: And yes, heavy meleeing Phantoms with a krogan is soooo satisfying after all my other character class deaths to them.

Krogans are the definition of tank. Just hate how your heavy melee just doesn't lock onto targets like your headbutt does.

It does. Are you taking the time to ensure the lock-on prompt is over your target?

Yep every time. And it does lock on occasionally. Just noticed that sometimes I'll just go straight past the guy and miss him completely. Especially with a nemesis considering all they do is run and hide from you.

I was very satisfied with just how "krogany" the krogan soldier feels. When I feel like just having some stupid silly fun I will go with the krogan.

He definately doesn't feel like another soldier skin. It's practically a class of its own.

IC, I thought you meant it never locks on in contrast to headbutt. Yeah it can be finicky sometimes. :(

Krogans are absolute boss. Nothing like going around ****-slapping fools into oblivion while the character laughts in his bloodlust. Once you get enough Fitness upgrades, you can basically run up to anything and go to town. I maxed Rage and Fortification, and once I break Fortificaion I can 2-shoot Phantoms on Silver with the heavy melee. And once I get a kill with the Heavy Melee, melee damage is almost doubled for 30 secs; Assault Troopers fall to the normal melee, Centurions almost get one-shot with the Heavy. I feel absurdly powerful, so much that I sometimes forget to look at my life bar and find myself dead or close to it. It makes me angry and interrupts my fun, so I heal myself and crack more skulls. Absolute bliss. This multiplayer is so much fun. Bioware can you please make us do a mission as Wrex so we can experience even more awesomeness? Pretty please?

I wasn't impressed with my Krogan Soldier at first. Then I started getting melee talents filled out....after my first time entering bloodlust I understand the addictive power of a Krogan a lot better XD.

Favorite pastime of my friend who is a Quarian Engineer is Cryoblasting for me so I can shatter them.

Epic Krogan Moment: Adept being gripped by Atlas melee. Charge in with a melee attack fully charged killing the Atlas.
Atlas is stopped mid-animation and the Adept's life is saved at the last moment!

I wish that there was a krogan vanguard.  Biotic charge + krogan heavy melee + fortification = literally unstoppable.

Out of all the species in the ME universe, they are my least favorite (So far anyway.)

Their powers also don't fit my playstyle, so I'll probably never use their classes.

Sadly I unlocked it before I got my first level 20, and I only played on one class >.< I feel bad because I don't use it and people of a higher rank say they have been trying to get it forever.

First thing I did when I got my Krogan is I fully spec'd both Fort and Rage for defense.

I have 1200 hp and 1600 shields, fortification gives me 30% Damage resistance, and if rage goes active I get another 30%.

Dying is hard.

Wait hold the phones... The headbutt knocks Guardian's shields to the side?! Omfg I have tried everything else and just gave up, thinking Krogans were just doomed to be unable to deal with those mofos.

A frontrunner for my favorite class just got even better. Just gonna have to see how the Krogan Sentinel compares with Tech Armor instead of Fortification. I'm thinking better, since Lift Grenade and Incinerate should BOTH be better than the Krogan Soldier's crappy powers (not that you need powerssss, plural, when you've got POWER).

Anyone else planning on adopting the Krogan model to their single player Shepard? I'm totally stacking Tech Armor on my Sentinel with Fortification as a bonus power and charging in Omniblades first hehe.

PS (and sorry for double post, but) what is the general consensus on the last evolution for Rage? Is it better to go for activating it after two kills or the extra health and durability?

I went for the two kill evolution and don't really regret it because Rage mode is an absolute necessity on the harder difficulties and I figured what's the point of having it improved if you can't even get it to proc before you die. Any other thoughts?

Important note to all Krogan Warriors...

If you're playing on Silver or Gold difficulty, be careful when melee-ing Phantoms. I've seen multiple instances of Phantoms taking NO damage from heavy melee's and insta-killing the Krogan. This seems to happen even when the Phantom's barrier is down.

So, if you see a Phantom, might be better to shoot it in the face... a lot.

P.S. For Tuchunka.

The thing with the last rage evolution is it also has a passive portion that buffs melee/health regardless of whether or not rage mode is up.

That said, 2 kill rage seems tasty. But I rarely find myself in a position to even TRY melee'ing multiple anythings on the later waves on silver/gold.

Do we really want to go there? Let people take their potshots, it helps diminish the number of rage threads. :/

On-topic: I'm interested in Krogan Soldier. Everyone raves about how badass it is, but I haven't unlocked it yet. So out of curiosity I ask krogan players: what is it that makes the class so powerful? Does it have more shields? Health? Melee damage? I mean, why is it so much more effective than Human Soldier?

Also, for when I eventually unlock it: what's the best build for it?

Sheilds yes. "Foritification"
Melee Damage: Rage, an option from the specilization.
Health: No
Weapons: No.

Overall the only change is Foritification.

Carnage being the replacement for concussive shot looks much more impressive when killing an enemy.
