Ah I love the Krogan. I find it positively stress relieving, running around and headbutting everything including the atlas. Still waiting to unlock the krogan sentinel though.

Totally supporting this thread - while I'm VERY intrigued by the Turian Soldier and hoping they'll even add a Quarian/Geth Soldier [hah], the Krogan Soldier is my favorite class combo atm. It's crazy that even with the ability bar bugs [spawn in with no abilities] I can STILL top Silver meters just from melee/shotgun kills xD

Did you srsly conclude all that with "at mid to log range" in a thread about the awesomeness that is Krogans? Here we go alright.

Stagger is massive on that gun at mid to close range, allowing you to close the distance to melee. And it tears **** up when you're in their face, which is where you always wanna be with this class. It's perfect for the Krogan.

All those stats for nothing lol.

No, all those stats to tell you that it doesn't work at mid-to-long range, which is where you'll be on Gold if you don't like dying.

And for short range you can just take a scimitar with a combat blade for 25% more melee damage.

And I ended my post with the words that "it is a BEAST at close range"

I couldn't disagree more that you should ever be at long range with a Krogan. They're so obviously built for close range. You just have to do it more tactically on Gold. I hate to tell people how to play the game but "you're doing it wrong" is all that cones to mind when you talk about being long range with a Krogan Soldier.

And for the third time, the Revenant excels at mid range with the Krogan, because it staggers opponents incredibly easily from further than the shotgun's range and thus allows you to close the distance to melee, which is what any Krogan Soldier's priority should be.

Alright. Th next time I see someone write "TL;DR" and think that their arguments are still valid, I'mma lose my **** faster'n Wrex eats varen sandwiches, I mean ****G SERIOUSLY!!!! As soon as you refuse to listen to someones argument, you've already lost ****G lost! I agree that. Krogan was built for close combat, but on gold it is true hat you must practice much more caution, that said, there are simple times where there are enemies you can't kill with melee, like across the two balconies on Firebase Ghost, or on the walkways on Noveria, the goddamn conversation was about the better weapon for the class! Besides, any one of the shot guns can do the exact same job when done right, with my scimitar VI which is upgraded with a Smart Choke V I can kill people from centre when they are just landing at the EZ in three shots, and that is almost long, so your argument about the shotguns is null, AND with just a scimitar my carnage recharges at about three bleedin' seconds, SHUT DOWN.

Don't get your panties all in a twist. I read the argument, which actually ignored most of the points of MY argument, and just put TL;DR in their so as not to end up with a page long post with all that quoted.

And speaking of not reading arguments (or lacking the reading comprehension necessary to understand them when you do), I never argued against the shotgun, only on behalf of the Revenant. It was never about which is better so you failed pretty hard at your imaginary argument there. Don't tell me not to use the Revenant when I absolutely rape with it and then throw a tantrum when I explain its merits. Shotguns are great on Krogan Soldiers, OBVIOUSLY, but so is the Revenant if you even have any inkling of what you're doing with the class.

For the millionth time, the Revenant allows you to stagger multiple enemies from a further distance far more easily, and thus is a great weapon to help the Krogan close the gap. If that doesn't work for you, so be it. You rather use the shotgun? Okay. I enjoy using both (well, one or the other) just about equally and outscore people left and right with the Rev.

Again, just to reiterate so that nobody continues this back and forth or has a hissy fit, shotguns are awesome on a Krogan Soldier, but so is the Revenant. Don't tell me otherwise when I prove it every time I play. SHUT DOWN!!!1!!1

I play on silver most of the time. I heavy melee everything until wave 5 or so, then switch over to a scoped Revanant for long range and a high caliber barreled Scimitar shotgun for short range. Sadly, I've never used the claymore and haven't unlocked it yet. For phantoms, I use a combination of shotgun + carnage. DO NOT try to melee one. You won't be able to revive when they impale you.

A heavy melee stuns a phantom just fine, and the next one kills it dead. It's not recomended if there's more of them though.

After playing today, I have a correction to make. You can kill a phantom with a heavy melee... if you do it from behind. Melee always carries the risk of missing your target and leaving you wide open, though.

Krogan was the first of the non-human races I unlocked (other than the Salarian at the start) and my god is it fun to play. When he laughs after meleeing a group of enemies, when he smacks away a Phantom like so much chaff. When he shouts "FOR TUCHANKA!" All-around badass.

I just hate when you whiff the heavy melee. Its weird sometimes its like it locks on and other times it doesn't.

KROGAN BREAK CRUNCHY PUPPY PEOPLE!

Seriously, I had an unhealthy amount of fun just running up to people and smashing their skeletons with heavy melee attacks.

@No Snakes Alive, right, sorry, went a little overboard there, and I did read it, I was simply saying why not use a shotgun and then I got carried away, and I clearly misunderstood the TL;DR, that's what actually annoyed me, not your post, I just hate it when people do that, like I said, so yeah, sorry 'bout that.
