Here is what I currently have:
ME2 is installed on drive E:\\
My documents folder is moved from C:\\ to D:\\ (my C: is a SSD so I don't want to put too much stuff on it)
So here is my problem.
I would load up ME2, run the config to transfer my ME1 saves over to ME2. I check the folders and yes, it does create a Bioware folder on my D:\\ drive and inside the Save folder it created another folder called ME1.
When I launch ME2 and select imported character, my Shepard is available and I can select it and begin the game. All the information is right and the game runs fine.
Here is what I noticed on try 1:
I would start a new game with my import, I would play the first few scenes until I meet the Illusive Man then save the game, and exit.
When I restart the game I askes me to again log into EA online, even if I've done it before. And once I logged in, my only options would be 'New Game' - so somewhere my save from before got lost.
I uninstalled ME2 and reinstalled it.
This time I deleted the Bioware folder from My Documents just to make sure ME2 install recreated it. It did. I imported my ME1 saves once more, and started the game up. Did all as before, got to Illisuve man and then quit the game. This time, it at least created a AutoSave.pcsav and a QuickSave.pcsav in my Save folder, however it did not create a profile folder.
When I run ME2 again, I this time have the option to resume game, and it does take me back to where I left off, but it still asks me to sign into EA Online again. Also, when I go Switch Careers I get a blank screen. I mean, it shows the screen with all the headers and what not as if my career should be there, but it shows no information at all.
So. Somehow the game is saving my stuff, but it's not making a new career. Weird eh. I don't want to finish this all the way and realize I have nothing to import to ME3.
Help please?
My information:
CPU: Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.6Ghz
RAM: 6 gig
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295
OS: Win 7 Ultimate 64bit
DirectX: Ver 10.0 (Mar2009) or later
I'm running ME2 from DVD (purchased from my games store.)
Version Info:
MassEffect2.exe v1.02
MassEffect2Launcher.exe v1.01
MassEffect2Config.exe v1.03
Uninstall Mass Effect 2.exe v1.03
Thanks.
EDIT
Nevermind, I fixed it.
As per another thread I got the idea of moving my Documents folder back to it's original position on C drive. I did this, started the game, created my charater and hoora it created my profile folder. I quit the game, moved my Documents back to my D drive and now all is well. I have a profile, the menus look correct and I even made sure it saved my saves correctly.
If anyone else ever has this issue, there you go, there is your solution.
