Okay so as the title shows, the game crashes at the second archdemon dream where he 'sees' you and you get ambushed by the darkspawn. I have no idea how to get past it and I can't travel ANYWHERE without triggering the cutscene and crashing the game. As soon as the cutscene ends the games says: "Dragon Age Origins has stopped working" as well as when I end the cutscene manually.

My game has always worked on my pc without problems but ever since patch 1.05 it has been like this.
I use a variety of mods such as:
Improved Immersion,
Grey Wardens Of Ferelden (Improved Immersion version),
some skill improvement mods,
character morphs,
game changing mods (such as dalish mage origin).

These mods have always worked before without giving me problems, I wonder if anyone else has had this problem and know how to fix it.

(I have to warn you however I have absolutely 0% knowledge about a computer so talking about all that technical stuff like video cards, processors and all that stuff won't do me any good because I have NO idea what it all means. So please, try to keep it simple so a nitwit like me can understand it. )

You have shut yourself out of the loop. The only thing I have for you is to get a console version, and avoid PC versions unless / until your attitude toward technology improves.

Most likely none of those mods were around when Patch 1.05 was released, so it is possible there is some adverse interaction between the installation of the patch and the mods.  Don't know for sure.

Broadly, you three options appear to be:

1) Reinstall all the mods, in case some modified file was overwritten by the patch.  (Could break the game for good.)
2) Do a complete uninstall, reboot, reinstall, and patch only to 1.04, then apply the mods
3) Nuke it all (uninstall, reboot, re-install), patch 1.05 and start over without the mods (previous saved games may not work).

There is a fourth option-- some other issue with system specs or Windows itself.  But since you did not provide that data, I don't have enough upon which I might further hypothesize....

Thanks for the solution for this. It just crept up on me yesterday, totally stopping game play.
I took out all mods and it went past the dream cutscene just fine. However, a new problem has shown itself. After I replaced the mods and reset everything, I still have thh floating head phenomenon after re-equipping mod items such as armor. While this is hilarious, it is hard to play. Is this because of the reinstall of the mods? If not, is there a solution?

Thank you, I will try un/reinstalling the game and only patch it to 1.04. I just hope I didn't destroy my game, otherwise I'll have to buy another version.
