I was curious as to people's thoughts about leveling as an individual character based mechanic instead of on the class level.

Personally I hate having all 4 characters level up together in the same class, it breaks the fun for me personally and I got bored with making a new character in a class I'd already leveled quite high and setting up a bunch of skill points right off the bat. This also makes the individual character experience rewards quite useless other than just another appearance option.

I'd love to be able to level up my Human Female Vanguard separately from my drell vanguard, or my Human Male Solider seperately from my Krogan Soldier.

I know plenty of people will whine about my opinion because it would mean leveling a character of the same class, but I believe it would create a better multiplayer experience and keep players engaged longer than having 4 characters level up simultaneously by only using 1 of them.

I would rather level each character separately, leveling through low levels with different skills can be a very different experience, one that a lot of people will not get if they leveled a different character of the same class.

Couldn't have said it better myself...

Starting a charater off at 15+ has no appeal for me cause I find it boring. I'm not one of those multiple-prestige CoD nutters, but I would find the individual leveling more attractive.

personly i like that i it doesnt punish me for gain a new class character by making me start leveling from beining. tho early level to end level can be a huge learning curve on some classes so maybe i would be better if instead or equal level it would only be a 50% of your highest level class chacter, i.e if you have a human adept at lv 20 then gain asari adept it would start at lv 10 iinstead.

Budget yourself 3 skill points to spend per bronze match. There's your "new character" leveling experience.

Supposedly promoting your character/class will reset it's level, if that's true then there's your replayability.

Interesting, there seem to be more lazy people in here than I realized. Considering the majority of opinions have just been "I don't feel like trying."

I do like your idea as a compromise solution between level 1 and current level class characters. Though, other than the humans, I don't see gaining a new class character at lvl 1 a punishment, after all it is a brand new character complete with (usually) mostly new skills. It would sort of be like saying that you don't want to train (as an example) your level 1 warrior up to level 5 to match your level 5 rogue because you think it should start at level 5 without having to 'experience' things to level up. I'll end with pointing out that character experience cards pop out of the purchaseable packs that are for specific characters, such as getting a Male Human Soldier experience and appearance card...why are the other 3 characters gaining experience as well, it doesn't say All Soldier experience card.
