Exactly. I am supposed to take back the Earth, just the leave the races of universe in it after destroying the relays. The best case scenario that Earth is a trashpile soon....

WOW! amazing how the battle for Earth depicted in the trailer is NOTHING like what we got, way to overhype things Bioware. this made the ending more depressing.

That trailer bums me out more every time I see it. It had the promise of the previous Mass Effect games; vicious, almost unstoppable enemies, loss, and the against all odds triumphant spirit that Commander Shepard always displayed. To think it went from that into the pathetic mess the ending turned out to be is tragic.

It makes me sad every time I watch it and remember the last 20 minutes of the game. I don't think Bioware deserves all the hate they get though because the first 95% of the game is amazing. At the same time I don't think myself and everyone else who's played through the entire Mass Effect Trilogy deserved to feel empty as a thank you for playing. We really loved Shepard and crew, wanting to know what happened to them. Wanting to know the fate of the Galaxy. Buying the DLC. Hoping that those fight scenes in the trailer would be realized in the battle for Earth.
If they destroyed the Mass Relays just to make a MMO easier because there would be less planets to incorporate then I really think this ending will blow up in their face more, even after the DLC ending.
What I think people really want, and what Mass Effect 3 and the Trilogy deserves. Is an extended earth battle that leads to actual different endings, even if its the same 3 choices as we got. They each need those individualized extended cuts. Personally I would like an ending by which if you do everything in your power to protect Shepard and crew. By being 100% ready. You might actually get to take earth back and have a happy ending for Shepard.
I have a sinking feeling about that though. it feels as though everything was deliberately left this way to hype the next Mass Effect game without Shepard or to prepare some sort of ME MMO,
I know I would rather have more Single Player games than an MMO grind fest made from the ashes of a Trilogy that deserved so much more. And I would much rather have Shepard than as an option for Mass effect 4 even if they wanted to add other races as options.
Nevertheless, I still extend my thanks to BioWare for caring enough about story driven games to bring us Mass Effect 1 2 and 3. My favorite video game heroine of all time was Commander Shepard. If BioWare don't bring her back after the DLC extended cut (Which I know is 99% likely, that shes gone :`( Then rest in peace Shepard.
