I don't understand why people are blaming the s/s crowd for Ash/Kaid possibly turning bi. It's the devs fault and no one seriously expected or demanded these specific characters be made bi. The only thing the devs had to cave into were polite wishes and hopes, nothing more.

Seriously, the s/s crowd didn't wish for them to be interested in the same gender to ruin the character, they just wanted to be with a character they've grown fond of over the course of this trilogy like straight people can. Is it a crime to want that?

I don't agree with making developing characters that weren't meant to bi into being so, but I'm not going to cry over it. It cheapens the character in my eyes, but only very slightly as romances are just small parts of characters.
