*Ding, ding, ding* We have a winner! I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape with what people are doing in *their* games. If someone has chosen to play with an LI in a same sex relationship, that has NO AFFECT on someone else playing with an LI in a hetero relationship. Seriously people, why worry about how someone else is playing his or her own Shepard and LIs in a completely different reality than yoursM-Taylor wrote...
The same goes for the VS. Got Kaidan alive in your straight male Shepard? Never flirt with him and ta-da, he's not bisexual in your play through. Just the same ol' Kaidan.

I agree to a certain degree, but word of warning - dont say anything like that, you'll start a flame warlastpatriot wrote...
How can the VS now be bi? That simply makes no sense - especially for Ashley when you consider her background story. This just sounds like DA:2 all over again.

Samara, Liara, Jack I totally see as being bi. Those are easy ones. Garrus I'm a little torn on, being as Turians becoming attracted to humans is such an incredibly rare thing to begin with...maybe, if the story is written right, but I'm still leery. Thane and Jacob, no way, straight as they come. Miranda, again maybe, if written right but leery.
My biggest, and pretty much only, pet peeve with Bioware is when they start doing this crap. They change something so fundamental to the characters we fell in love with AS THEY WERE in previous games. Leave them alone!!! Changing them takes away from the immersion, away from the original attachment and appreciation for the characters.

OnT: Ay my dear friend would say - everybody's bi, they just haven't met me. I'm not as confident as she is

Kaidan doesn't seem to be one of them. It appears he outright says he wants male Shepard, without the player having to choose to flirt.

You can very easily write around that.
FS: So now you're suddenly interested, why didn't you say anything after all that time on the Normandy?
AW: I was so focused on getting the job done. Before my unit left for Eden Prime, my captain finally found out who I was related to and it just reminded me of how hard I worked to fix my family's name, then I lost my whole unit when you showed up to save me. I figured I could... I had to do the right thing and stop the Saren. It wouldn't just clear my name or save the galaxy, but it would remind me of who I was.
FS: Did it work? Remembering who you were?
AW: Why don't you come closer and find out.
And with Kaidan
MS: Wait, are you hittin on me Major?
KA: It's been a while since I gave someone orders. Well while they weren't in uniform anyway.
MS: Why the sudden interest?
MS: The interest was always there, but getting handsy with the CO is a one way ticket to sitting behind a desk in Kansas. Don't know about you, but I prefer the Citadel
MS: What makes the CItadel so special.
KA: It's a big place...
It's easy to write around it since they never had an instance where they deliberately said they were never interested in a gay relationship with Shepard.

How does it change immersion if you choose not to go the S/S romance route? With open options, you can still play the LIs exactly the way *you* want to. How other people play their romance arc has no bearing on you, your game, or the sexuality of the characters in your setting.BoneNinja wrote...

The problem is that Bioware now has to write the romances even more generalized to please everyone. The imported Shepard (maybe a throw away line to reference the ME1 relationship if we're lucky), the new Shepards and the ****** Shepards.Kemmer wrote...

I disagree because in DA2 there was just an akward overhanging on knowing the members of the opposite sex wanted to be with you. It creates an akward sense when Kaiden (who showed no romantic interest in Mshep) all of the sudden flirts with you. Create bi charecters if you want but don't force otherwise straight charecters into a role they wouldn't regularly fit.

Simple answer: no.
Longer answer: Samantha is f/f only, Steve is m/m only, Diana possibly bi, but unconfirmed, Kaidan/Ashley bi according to a source who has a build of the game, Kelly is bi, Liara as well, James not romanceable according to same source, Tali and Garrus are probably for old romances only, but there are some indications in the script that Tali may be a new romance. If that is so, then she is likely straight.
Wait, James isn't romanceable? Why? God, what a waste that is if true.

Bioware should've chucked in some classy new s/s romances for those who want it. Instead of changing old characters. But the VS has always got the short end of the stick, and only either Ashley or Kaidan is alive in any playthrough. So Bioware always do a half-assed job when it comes to them. It’s always 50/50 every time.

Ha thats part of life anytime your different then the "Societal norm" you should expect games, movies or any way of entertaining the masses to be different then you. Also I think giving them an option or two creates a more realistic world where being gay does limit you choices because the majority of people just aren't gay.Frozen83 wrote...
