They all look like dreadnoughts both the red and purple. You said that the Art Book shows dreadnoughts without the two extensions on the main gun, then doesn't the red one like look the smaller dreadnought?

You may need glasses, just saying.

Some people worry about the dumbest things...

You probably never saw "Casablanca" due to the line "Play it again, Sam." was never said in the movie...

Thanks, GnusmasTHX, that's what I was talking about, but I guess you're right, I was looking at a blurry YouTube video to rechecking the ship in the demo and to me it looked like that dreadnaught design, I didn't see the two spires you are talking about that make it a cruiser between the blurryness and the smoke of the Reaper laser. Still not that easy to tell the two apart though.

Why did BW make a cruiser & dreadnought look so similar?

Maybe it was another glaring error? Art people must be spending too much time with the writing department.

OK, now I'm convinced you're just @#$%ing trolling.

This was already confirmed to be a scripting error, by the time they realised their mistake the VA's had gone home and it was too late to call them back in for another recording session.

Well it only requires 2 voice actor's, are they really that unprofessional? Why didn't they come back to record one line? Are their lives really that busy? Pompous idiots.

there are size differences and a difference on what weapons each ship can have on board. The battleship MO has 16 inch guns and u would never see them on a cruiser.

Umm no, the crusier found in the demo is actually on the very page you have uploaded. Look here:

i1146.photobucket.com/albums/o526/adammikejones/Dreadnought.jpg

The Art Book shows the ships of the Alliance in proportion with Dreadnoughts. The Artbook aswell as the demo crusier is shown to have red stripes not blue. The ships in the trailer have blue strips or none at all. Therefore the red circled ones can't be crusier and are the smaller dreadnoughts you noted yourself in the Artbook.

The smaller Dreadnought being an Everest class and the larger Dreadnought a Kilimanjaro class.

Yeah...and?  That doesn't refute the point that they can look very similar.

Busy lives, the cost of bringing them back in, take your choice, personally I'd go for the latter, I would not consider something like this worth the extra cost.

If you have problems seeing it then look at the nose falling down to the water when the ship explodes - it's quite obvious there.

The only difference in appearance between a dreadnaught and a cruiser is the dreadnaught has 4 thrusters like the Normandy instead of 2, and the main guns appear to be a part of the thrusters portions of the ship instead of the central hull like the cruisers, otherwise, they look damn similar. Notice how the ship in the demo is firing its guns from either side or "shoulder" instead of the big central portion - that proves it is a dreadnaught and not a cruiser, a cruiser fires from the center as seen in the final battle against Sovereign in ME1. So Ash/Kaidan were correct.

Now whether a dreadnaught should be able to get that low to the ground without crashing is debatable, as the lore says they can't land on planets, though this one doesn't exactly land and they are in a rather extreme situation where they may be willing to pull a few more dangerous moves like that.

You know if you actually look at the image from the Art Book, you'd see that the ship in the demo is a cruiser, rather than a dreadnought.

There are two jutting spires extending from the main center portion of the ship, akin to ME1, and like the image in the Art Book... of a cruiser.

The Art Book shows dreadnoughts without the two extensions on the main gun. To iterate my point:

The ship in red is a cruiser, and you'll find the profile matches the one in the demo. The ship in purple is a dreadnought.

I notice that these capital ships are also flying in an atmosphere. Presumeably, Earth's.

We actually noticed this one. Ash and Kaidan's recording sessions were over by the time we had finalized art and realized that at the distance we could see the ship, there was no way it should be a dreadnought. Unfortunate, but there wasn't much we could do.

(I don't comment on this kind of thing too often, but it bothered one of our other writers quite a bit so I'd like to stick up on his behalf.)

And I'm sure you'll still be excessively hostile and judgmental about what, in the grand scheme of things, is a minor script error.

I think it was a misconception but the Codex only says Dreadnoughts cannot land on a Planet, I dont think it says anything about dreadnoughts not being able to enter an Earth's atmosphere.

I'd say that poetic license.

On a CGI trailer that has to look "OMG AWESOME!" you can bend / break the lore. Image IPB

OK, great.  You of course realize that perfection is hardly ever attained right, despite being striven for?
