Like the title said. The demo takes forever to load, as in 15min or more (a lot more). It's the same thing wither I had doubl clicked the shortcut on the desktop or I started the demo with Origin opened. I'd start the ME3 demo, and do something else for about 10, 20 minutes, then the ME3 startup cinematic would suddenly come up during that time.

Oh and the best part, after the ridiculous wait time... "origin is no longer running, mass effect 3 will now exit" appears on the main menu.

EA with the orange, wait for 10-20 minutes for a game to start, just so it'll crash right after is absurd. And this is with all anti-virus, and anything but origin, ME3 and vital system processes running. Again, absurd. I have a fine PC, I can run BF3, Crysis2 etc at the highest settings with no problem. So no, it's not a hardware or software problem on my part.

note: the game ran fine for the first couple of times I've played, this problem only started a few days ago after some apparent update to the game that never finalizes. And ever since then, no ME3 for me.

I liked the game, please respond.

@Gorath Alpha, hey, at least you responded. so thx
to respond to your comment on my lack of information
what else do you need? you mean like a crash/error log? Like I said, the orange nor the game perceive this as an error/bug - it doesn't create a log for this event.
"origin is no longer running" is the only thing it says.
I have i7 3.2ghz, 4 gb ram, radeon hd 7970 3gb...

New development: so I found out the problem to what's been first posted - I had peerblock running at the time, and it's been interfering with the orange's exportation of my pc's information. it's ok, I will submit.

So I had peerblock turned off, and the game started to load.

No wait! It's back to being stuck at "Finalizing update" again.

---

After another long dreadful wait, the update finally "finalized" its update.

and then... here's the kicker: "Lauch Error: Unable to launch Mass Effect™ 3 Demo. Please make sure this game is installed properly and try again"

....

I will now look up this message on google to see if anyone else had been as unlucky as me. And if that fails, I will try reinstalling the demo to see what happens. Just to be on the safe side, I'll restart the PC in between, just in case there's some odd driver conflicts or whatever....

update: nothing worked.

I've updated the video card driver, uninstalled and re-installed both origin and mass effect 3 demo twice. I don't have peerblock or any ip blocking software opened, I've disabled anti virus etc... nothing.

Still takes 10min + to load the game. There's no unending "finalizing update" anymore. But the game now says "Origin is no longer running, Mass Effect 3 will now close" (... or something like that. Not going to try and start the game again and wait just to get the correct error message)

And just to clarify: the demo worked for me before. I've gotten to level 17 with two characters on MP already, then everything went to hell.

Devs or any smart person, please respond.

Had the same problem after Origin's Update . I disabled Origin Ingame and it works just fine ;) .  Go in Setting and Ingame and uncheck Enable Origin Ingame.
