I like the Sentinel class and have spent time leveling up. Still, playing with other classes, it seems I'm not as effective, even if we are all at the same level. I've seen Adepts and Vanguards wipe the floor with everything below a Phantom or turret. Infiltrators can stealth heal squad and fire off sniper shots while going unnoticed. Engineers are invaluable too with Overload on turrets and Combat drones dealing damage as you are in cover. I find the Sentinel's Tech Shields rather lacking and Push or Warp only gets practically effective once you get it up to level 5 or 6.

Am I right about this? Is a human Sentinel one of the weaker classes?

I think sentinel has problems with taking down shields while wearing tech armor, if they don't use headshots. Else they can just warp detonate, or spam throw. I don't think they are weak. If you want a to see a weak class, play drell vanguard.

Also, try vanguard or adept yourself then :P I don't think you will get much higher score by changing class. Sentinel might not Top top top the charts when adepts and vanguards go craaaazy, but they can keep up without much trouble, if equal skill.

Sentinel is by far my favourite class(with Vanguard's Charge-> Nova -> Charge -> Nova OPness a close second), if only because I can spam Throw or Warp+Throw detonate every 4 seconds or so. Just carry around a Predator X for Guardians.

The Turian Sentinel atleast is a beast, overload, warp and increased accuracy. Combined with stronger base melee damage and if you spec for health/shields it makes you a tank.

Maybe just wait till you unlock a Turian then.

The sentinel is as I see it a support class. Your duty is to be a little of everything and help your teammates fill out their role. (For example, throwing a warp at the enemies your adept used singularity/stasis on so s/he can use their abilities to their full potential instead of wasting time doing that warpbomb) Your job is not trying to get the biggest score.

Sentinels are tanks, that's their duty. They're job isn't to tear off the faces of enemy's heads, or fly into the lines of enemy troops and send them flying, nor is it to thin enemy numbers using their technological allies or throw the enemies around like a hurricane. No, you're job is to sit there, sponge missiles, grenades and gunfire and give these enemies a lesson in "why you keep your F**king head down when a Sentinel has your number".

Turian sentinel:

Stand up and be a bullet magnet while hosing down the entire room with full automatic fire. I have more shields than some players have entire health pools. No Revenant yet, but the Avenger's still good for keeping the enemies scrambling for cover.

Sentinel's were purposely given the shaft. The class in MP is represented by gimped Adepts and powerless Soldier.

The only true Sentinel we have available in the demo is Turian.

Of course the class is gimped to start to begin with. Tech Armor is only worth using if you really believe you can win while being gimped.

human sentinels are kind of dead weight past bronze. Yeah it is do-able, but you are better off with any other class in your party.

Its like picking the slow kid just so he feels good about himself by carrying him through the match.

At the start, the avenger does a better job of being a sentinel's best friend. Perhaps down the line (past the weapon level V barrier) it will be far more effective (when the bullets that do hit each target really hurt) as a sentinel's best friend.

Not sure why you guys are saying this. They have tons of shields and crowd control. I am not seeing how they are so horrible at all. You can tank a ton, if the crap gets thick you can blow your armor and escape. They are great for tanking while hacking/deactivating missions etc (they can do it while under fire). They have great skills.

be clear to mention the race, as human sent is pure trash compared to turian.

Yes, the Sentinel has been nerfed from its ME1 heyday, and in my opinion has even been nerfed when compared to ME2.

However, think of the Sentinel as, more or less, a Krogan Soldier with Biotics.  You are there to Tank and spam your biotics, whereas the Krogan Soldier is there to Tank, melee, and spam carnage.   In other words, your main strength is that you can take it to the enemy with far less micro than the Adepts or Infiltrators can.

Turian Sentinels are what I'm best at. Heavy Warp detonating mechs, biotics and phantoms while I chained my Overload so that it hits in three bursts, crippling the first target, stunning the second and doing normal damage to the third's shields. The Overload comes in handy most. Killing turrets, stunning enemies about to curb stomp downed allies, and getting rid of Nemisis. The 750 shields, increased accuracy and weapons proficiency combined with the Tech Shield are amazing, or negate the Shield and launch Overload and Warps in three to four second intervals. Armed with a Scoped Mattock for enemies and a Scoped Phalanx for Guardians, I definitely think the Sentinel is up there with the other classes.

ME3 classes so far have been an absolute dream =)

They should have left tech armor the way it was in ME2.

The Turian Sentinel is great fun to play and is always a welcome additon for the harder challenge modes.

Yeah, I do get Assist badges. ;p I haven't unlocked the Turian yet. I did unlock a Drell though.

In theory they should be quite useful. For example a Push against those hard shielded enemies. Warp to weaken and distract any target (though it seems to have no effect on Phantoms). Their Tech Armor should make them the most shielded class however grenades, turrets and Phantoms seem to cut down a Sentinel as fast as any other class. It be nice if they could buff enough to heal a teammate near a Turret.

Sentinel, is highly gear dependent. Its the issue of the class, you have either, low power/heavy weapon route (Revenant/Widow V-X) or take a light assault rifle/pistol, with using the overload/stun, and warp focused to take on armor with improved weapon damage. At least from the turian side, your the guy of the group that has the guns to take out anything in seconds, but your there to make sure that anything your firing at, isnt firing at your buddies. The tech armor has a massive 60% reduction in speed. (30% if you spec that way at the cost of 10% damage resistance) So even at best, your powers are there to let you one two important targets.

I've discovered my best weapon combo is Assault Rifle and Shotgun (both modded). I tried pistol but it just seemed weak (perhaps I'm not using the right pistol) and the Sniper Rifle was useless as by the time target is still enough for me to line up a shot my shields are almost gone and the target is still running around after being shot.

Turian Sentinel

- I can almost one-shot anything with my Mantis when aimed for the head. When I get my Widow, expect me to slay everything.
- I am dangerous long-range and CQC. My melee damage and my Tech Armour allows me to go toe-to-toe with a Phantom and win 90% of the time.
- My Revenant is an excellent suppressive machine gun. It's designed to stagger a large group and with my powers and stats, I am one of the few classes who can utilize this gun effectively.
- I survive longer than any other class out there. Walking tank, yes please!

I have a heavy melee Turian sentinel. It works out really good with the shotgun, just shoot 1 round than melee. And on bronze I 1 hit kill everything but the Phantom and Atlas. Yeah their shields doesn't save them.
