Just wait until the fifth and final class/race slots are revealed in the final game and you get an Asari Sentinel with Tech Armor, Stasis, and Overload. /game.

One can only dream..

although it would make sense. I was honestly surprised that the didn't make Asari the fourth sentinel and make Krogan the vanguard. I would love the stasis/tech armor/ overload combo though, that is basically how I am going to play my SP sentinel.

Human Sentinel is fun if you're willing to play risky. On mine, I maxed everything except Warp; take an SMG of choice (with capacity and heat sink) and a Pistol of choice (Carnifex is preferred). Tech Armor maxed for detonation damage as well as power speed penalty reduction. Never even scope for the SMG, just hip-fire and then throw people to death. Run up to enemies, detonate the armor, and kill with the Pistol. I've done this successfully on Silver.

Turian Sentinel, I use the Revenant and nothing else. Stabilizer thing and Capacity (again for hip-firing). Maxed everything except Warp again, went for pure damage protection on Fitness and Tech Armor, and Chain Overload both times with Neural Shock.

Turian sentinel is amazing. Human sentinel just appears useless. I kicked more ass with a quarian engineer and a Locust.

I doubt an Asari would be able to be a Tech class though lore-wise.. But Krogan Vanguard makes a lot more sense since Wrex was basically a Biotic/Combat class in ME1.

Human Sentinel is actually amazing on bronze, your damage reduction is noticeable and you can spam throw the hell out of everything and just 1 shot things with it. Fastest cooldown nuke and does more damage than asari's version.

Past bronze though,...lol it's a complete waste of a class.

They should have left tech armor the way it was in ME2.

ME2 was a bit too powerful, but what we have now is so bad that human sentinel is just an asari adept without stasis.

I'm sure middle-ground can be found.

They're both effective. I actually like the human more than the turian now. The human can be really good in the later waves of Gold. However both are worse versions of the Adept and Engineer. Tech Armor is better left off on Gold IMO the damage reduction doesn't do enough. Hopefully for Shepard since I assume he will have higher hp and shield values than the MP characters we will be able to notice Tech Armor on Insanity.

It is an absolute shame what they've done to the Sentinel. It was my favourite class, but now I've kinda figured out why everyone I play with has gone Vanguard... and it's not just to play as a drell.

I don't find that to be a bad thing.

I also have a problem figuring out sentinels. Not yet unlocked the turian. I have tried two different approaches:

1. Only TA in emergencies, use Warp (expose) and Throw (detonate) for biotic explosions. Lightly loaded.

2. TA all the time, using only throw against everything but Atlas and Turrets. Often more heavily loaded, since I don't need to combo my abilities.

In both cases, Phantoms eat me alive. Well, not really, but nothing I throw at them seem to stagger them at all, so even if I stay out of melee range, they still kill me with their gun.

Questions:
1. How do you handle Phantoms as Human sentinels? Apart from the option available to everyone; staying near the team, and hope you either have a vanguard or asari with you, or that the collective damage manage to finish them off before they kill you.

2. Anyone hare that have successfully ran a melee sentinel build (that is, focused on melee, but not necessarily exclusively) through silver or higher?

3. Have anyone here beaten gold (with a team, not solo) with a human sentinel? How high did you place compared to the others? Did you feel you contributed to the team, or were more of a support player to other heroes.

phantoms are a hassle as a human sentinel no mater what, what i usually do it make them jump sideway's with throw wich puts them into their frozen pose and slug a few rounds into their head, rince and repeat till death. or if they get close blow up TA and hope they stagger, if they do use throw and finish them off.

Despite Tech Armor being the "weakest link", I still thoroughly enjoyed Turian Sentinel. I maxed Overload, Tech Armor, and the Passives, taking most of the passive Damage Reduction is Tech Armor as well. I run with a Heavy Pistol + Mattock (to keep the CD Bonus) and with the damage maxed out on Overload, can tap shields on Silver no problem. I regularly take the top two seats in matches and have no problems with surviving. However, that still leaves me with one ability and guns. Compared to some classes, I'd call that rather pitiful. :)
