Cancel pre-ordered. In fact we never saw Shepard eat in ME or ME2, if he so much as looks at an apple I'm never buying another Bioware game.

The kid in the game was a prime example of how children have horrible decision making skills.

I guess the one in the video was to show how 'innocents' were dying too. I assume that kid was an innocent and not some evil serial killer midget in disguise and on the prowl.

I don't think any of that really matters, though.

Children exist. This cannot be denied, and it cannot be ignored. The implications of that in a situation such as this - Reapers descending all over the planet with the intention of eradicating all life as we know it - is something that ought to be referenced and, indeed, explored. I'd be more worried for the integrity of the plot if they DIDN'T show children.
